Alley Cats Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Texarkana

My mother and I were traveling through Texarkana on a road trip and decided to stop by this place after finding on Google. I was pleasantly surprised by quite a few things. The first thing that caught my attention was the atmosphere. This place follows a theme where it felt like a box-car café. The overall 'vibe' was very warm and welcoming. Outside of general looks, the place also had excellent staffing. Upon stepping inside, I was warmly greeted and by an employee readily prepared to offer assistance. After some small observation, it appears the employees keep this standard even during small rushes of customers. The owner(?) Was also present and offered insight into the place and its origins while also maintaining a comfortable atmosphere. It was clear the employees all had a healthy relationship with one another. Another good thing about the employees is that they offer good insight. I wanted a macha drink, but not particularly what was offered on the menu. The employees worked well with me to set up a custom drink that suited my tastes, with plenty of option on milk, sweeteners, tea, and tea brands. Overall, the staffing was beyond satisfactory. Finally, the drinks and desert I ordered were excellent. From my matcha drink and London fog tea (earl gray), I was able to determine that the ingredients used are high quality as you can determine flavoring from each ingredient. I also tried the cinnamon coffee cake, which also turned out to be really good. Overall, this establishment turned out to be an excellent stop...

Ummmmm....... The guy says I'm experimenting with this new flavor combo but I can't tell you what's in it, after a few yes or no questions I said I was down for it and he brings me this fruity cinnamon contradiction and I seriously became challenged with figuring out what it was, and I like to pride myself on being able to detect flavors with my delicate palete. I fell in love with it and my life changed forever when he told me the secrete flavor bc usually I do not like this flavor!!! You see it went down well with me!!! I won't tell you what it is you'll have to go and ask for the new special with the cinnamon sprinkles, not sure what...

The service was great, and the atmosphere was unique/interesting, and I love supporting local places when that option is available. But... what I didn't care for, and what lowered my rating, is that they don't offer any sort of real sugar. I asked. No liquid cane sugar and no sugar packets. All they offered was Splenda or Sweet n' Lo. I only put real sugar in my coffee so it just wasn't as good to me as it would've been otherwise.
