This is the location of the Post Office building in downtown Texarkana. A so-called photo island here allows visitors to take pictures while subjects stand with one foot in Texas and one foot in Arkansas.

There are, in fact, two cities named Texarkana, and, thus, the two cities are said to be twin cities. While residents and others may think of only one (combined) Texarkana, there are two cities: Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas.

Visitors to the post office on State Line Avenue (US Highway 71) have the unique opportunity to stand in both cities and both States (Texas and Arkansas) simultaneously whenever visiting the photo island at the front of...

We thought this was a really cool place. It’s nifty to have a town right on the border of 2 states where a Main Street is the state line. We loved the area at Photograph Island. The entire lot around the building was under construction but was not impassable. As a matter of fact all the construction people were extremely courteous and friendly. When they finish the grounds it should be marvelous. Definitely a fun place to check out if you’re...

I was waiting for this place experience for a very long time and no words to explain. As mentioned its a photograph place to capture the state line between Texas and Arkansas. You can stand between the states at the same time as shared in pictures. Kids were having good time here. There's a history behind the same with John F.Kennedy. Suggested time to visit - Before 6pm cst. Not much to see around and everything is closed...

This is a great, quick stop while on a road trip. Stretch your legs, read some history, take some photos, and get back on the road. The first thing to do is to take a picture with on foot in each state, Texas and Arkansas. After that, walk around the circle and there are several war memorials and a local time capsule.
