This was my first experience ever trying cravings corner. I went with two of my friends who have been to the Pacific Rim foods location and they always talked about how good it was. It’s located in a weird area near I think two daycare’s, and a few office buildings and a neighborhood. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t of known that the restaurant was there not unless someone told you because there’s no sign on the busy road that tells you it’s there.
The inside of the restaurant, nice for the most part I was a little confused about the stairs, but I think it’s for storage for the employees there. Place was clean for the most part and they also had outside seating, but it was so windy that day that it was not worth sitting outside.
One thing I did not like is that your water pitcher is automatically on the table and it’s room temperature….I don’t think it was tapwater cause it didn’t taste like it, but I just thought it was weird that the water was just sitting there on the table room temperature….
Server was really nice, asked us if it was our first time and it was very easy to order. I got a Boba drink, some potstickers and bbq pork Ramen. The price was fair for the Ramen, it was $14. The potstickers were $9.50 for only six, and at first I was upset about that price but the postickers are are actually huge in size. The Boba was in a large size cup and it was $5.50 but it was an extra $.50 to add if you got a different flavor cause some were $.50 extra.
Our Boba came first and I think that’s one of the worst Boba I’ve ever had….The tapioca pearls were just grainy/chewy and the flavor I got was brown sugar custard black tea, and it was not sweet at all. I didn’t even taste a single hint of brown sugar in it or a custard flavoring at all. I couldn’t even finish the rest of my drink due to a huge fly, landing on it…
They ask you if you want a fork or chopsticks and we all requested chopsticks since we’re used to eating with those. They were metal chopsticks and they were really hard to use with the potstickers... My potstickers came to the same time as my entrée and the potstickers came with some liquidy ginger sauce, and it tasted terrible. The potstickers were good, It’s just that I feel like it was less filling and more dough than anything. I also think they should add more vegetables into the filling because I just mainly tasted more of the minced meat. The sauce was way too thin and bitter, so I ended up mixing my friend’s hoisin sauce that came with her Pho and my other friends sweet chili sauce that cane with her shrimp tempura together and that was the type of sauce I would of ate with it.
My Ramen dish was really good. I had no complaints about it. The barbecue pork was very flavorful the broth I use their spicy miso broth, which gave it even more flavor. There was a lot of Ramen noodles in the dish, which I love every component in that bowl just came together so well. I tried some of my friend’s beef pho and that was really good too!
I end up getting their chocolate cake tower that was $12 so my total came out to $43 and some change which is a lot for one person but if I didn’t add the cake it still would’ve been $31 which is not bad but still a lot. But once again, I can’t really complain because they give you a lot of chocolate cake for $12 and the price is honestly reasonable in this economy. Now would I go again? not likely due to the fact that I don’t live in portage, I live all the way in Grand Rapids so I took a trek to try this place. I didn’t see the food as worth it enough for me to come all the way back. Also, this location is further than the one that’s in the heart of portage. I’m a little confused as to why it says it’s in Kalamazoo when it’s actually in portage? that part had got...
Read moreMy girlfriends and I wanted to go out to dinner for our bookclub Christmas party and we're so happy we chose Cravings Corners! Overall, everything was 💯 5⭐👏🏻
Here's what we got: • Green Curry w/ Tofu (4.5/5 ⭐): This was so stinking delicious, but spicier than expected. I love spicy Thai food and really enjoyed it, but my friends thought it was too spicy and wouldn't have been able to eat more than a couple bites if they had ordered it. [Taking off half a point because we weren't warned how spicy it is. Being able to choose a spice level would be nice, but that isn't always doable. If a 🌶️ was on the menu or if we were warned when ordering, that would be helpful to those who cannot handle heat. I understand Thai food is very spicy, and again, I loved it, but not all people in the Midwest can handle significant spice and may not know "Green Curry" is super spicy. Just food for thought.] • Duck Breast (4.5/5 ⭐): This was insanely delicious! The duck was so perfectly rare and the flavor was phenomenal. We were not asked how well we wanted it cooked and were not told it would be rare, so this might catch some people off guard. However, if you like your duck rare and perfect (🤤), you would love this special dish! [Taking off half a point because the dish was quite small and a bit of rice on the side would have been nice.] • Chicken Katsu, Ramen, and Gyoza (5/5 ⭐): I can't remember exactly the names of this order, but I remember everything being so delicious. The ramen broth could have been a little thicker, but other than that, it was so good. • Ube Cream Boba w/ Tapioca Pearls (5/5 ⭐): 💯 The best boba ever, so good! Pretty darn sweet, which I loved! • Lavender Matcha Boba w/ Honey Popping Pearls (5/5 ⭐): Very good, my friend loved hers. Medium sweet. • Creme Brulee Boba w/ Tapioca Pearls (not pictured) (5/5 ⭐): This could be hot or cold, so keep that in mind if your order taker doesn't ask which you'd prefer. My friend really enjoyed this! Mildly sweet.
We obviously cannot wait to go back and try more delicious options. I am thinking Pad Thai next time, but I might also get the Green Curry again because it was that good 😍🤤👏🏻
Also, we love Pacific Rim and were so excited when this new location opened up because it's a bit closer. We will definitely still go to Pacific Rim because we rely on the grocery store for many Japanese ingredients and Asian snacks, but now we can eat out more often since this location is much more convenient for us.

Their NEW RESTAURANT Cravings Corner is so perfect in Texas Township in the budding area of Texas Corners and A MUST STOP for amazing dishes!! So happy they finally opened (back in November) and now this is DEFINITELY going to be our go to place whenever we're on this side of Kalamazoo. Although we always enjoy our shopping experience and stopping for a lunch at the store with Cravings Deli, it is SO NICE that they have branched out to Texas Township. A mere hop, skip and jump from Western Michigan University campus..this is a sure fire hit for those wanting a perfect choice of your favorite ramen, phô and more! They have added new menu items and I have to say the duck breast is a DEFINITE MUST TRY!! We started out with the crab Rangoon and then rolled beef wraps..so so good! I had the duck breast with veggies and rice.. the duck was cooked to perfection and so tender. My daughter had the Pad Thai today with added mushrooms and bok choy and (pics included) as you can see it was a huge serving so much that we had to box up and bring home for later (not leaving that flavor goodness behind!!😉) My daughters bestie from San Francisco was here visiting with us for a week and we really wanted to have her enjoy one of the meals from Cravings Corner. She had the Phô and gave it the "Connie seal of approval"😂 meaning Two Thumbs Up!👍👍 I don't often give 5 star reviews but they earned this, plus..they never disappoint on food🤗☺️ I just hope that everyone will take the time to head over to Cravings Corner in Texas Township at Texas Corners. Super easy to find, tucked back in just behind the Bigby coffee. They also have some tables outside so I'm sure come spring and summer sitting outside on the patio area will be so nice! Can't wait! We're already looking forward to our return visit!!! The staff, as always, are so welcoming you feel like family and so relaxing. The vibe is here ppl!! Living for it! 🤗 Seriously tho, you will not be disappointed when you order anything from the menu bc everything is just stellar. We are longtime customers of Pacific Rim and SUPER STOKED NOW FOR THE NEW LOCATION IN TEXAS TOWNSHIP ...Again, just a short drive from Kalamazoo so don't blink!😉Well worth the short drive... Trust me when I say it will become your new favorite...
