I give this place a two star rating because the staff was at least nice. Other than that I'll get right into the meal. We started off with a couple drinks, I ordered a Mango mule that cost 7 dollars, pretty reasonable price for a mule. That being said the drink came with a whole bottle of ginger beer for whatever reason? So I of course just ordered two shots of their bottom shelf vodka they put into it (stolichnaya 19.99 a bottle) they charged 5.95 each shot. Which is outrageous. We also ordered two appetizers, fried mushrooms and their signature Flatbread. To start with the mushrooms they were just average frozen give or take mushrooms. I received maybe 8 for 6 dollars. The Flatbread was canned spinach covered in mozzarella cheese on top of an uncooked Naan bread. We also ordered a cup of tomato soup. The soup was obviously just a microwaved can of meijer brand trash. It came out ice cold in the center and hot on the edges... microwaved? For the main course I ordered the cranberry turkey sandwich. This was actually pretty good. The bacon was also microwave bacon and I didn't get the mayo on it I asked for but, it tasted better than anything else i had the entire night. The sweet potato fries were decent as well but un-seasoned. In short the atmosphere is decent (other than the off the clock worker pointing at me and saying something to her co worker but I did not hear it so I'll give it benefit of the doubt). By the end of the meal the bill came back at 80 dollars which is asinine considering what was ordered and I cannot reccomend the place to anyone. Go to literally any other upscale restaurant with the same prices. This places food was a joke and their prices even more so. I have a picture of the bill if someone needs more confirmation. Don't go here, bad restaurant, worse food, even more...
Read moreI've been here twice. Both times because the brewpub across the street was either fully booked or closed. That said, it is a pretty good alternative.
The first time, I had the fish and chips. Absolutely no complaints. It was really good and the fish was fried to the perfect crunchy outside yet tender inside. The fries (chips) were on the mark.
The second time was more recent on a Monday when they had the burger special. This time I was on my own and they were slammed and short of staff. Sign of the times, nothing you can do about that. It took quite awhile for my burger to arrive, but the staff was very apologetic and kept updating me, which was nice.
When the burger arrived, it was really cooked to my order (medium rare). And I mean a perfect medium rare. My only issue is that the burger itself needed some seasoning. It, by itself, was bland. It needed some pepper and salt or something other than just beef against a grill.
But... they were running a Monday burger deal, they were slammed, and they were short staffed. It was by no means the worst burger I have had, but it needed some better seasoning. I gave the 4 stars because the fish and chips were really good (1st visit) and the burger was OK (2nd visit).
The beer selection is good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the customers are friendly.
All in all, a nice neighborhood place that could really just use a few tweaks in these hard times to...
Read moreTook some out of town friends there. Most time we love the food. I never order a burger usually cause resturantshave mostly lost the skilled cooks that can cook one correctly. But, i was feeling in the mood for a burger. Asked server to please please please make sure it was cooked med to medrare. I hate getting a grey dry burger. What do I get, a dry grey burger. Not wanting to ruin my guest meal I cut it in half and started eating. Waitress came by probably 10 minutes later asking how it was cooked. I showed her the grey dry burger. Her reply was they would have redone it if I wouldn't had eaten half. I get it, it was half eaten. My reply was just cook it right to begin with. Or, maybe ask within a couple minutes. Are people supposed to wait and watch everyone else eat? My wife had Salmon and that was overcooked also. Luckily, our guests had decent meals. I just can't figure out why resturants these days can't cook a dam burger correctly. We will be back but lesson learned on ordering a...
