During a recent family vacation to Pennsylvania, I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the McDonald’s location in Honesdale. I was with my elderly mother and two small children, simply trying to enjoy a quick meal. Unfortunately, an employee named Veronica made the visit incredibly stressful and upsetting.
I politely asked if more coffee could be added to my iced coffee, as it appeared very light. I made the request kindly and respectfully. However, Veronica responded by aggressively rolling her eyes, grabbing the drink from my hand without a word, and disappearing into the back. When she returned, she handed the drink back to me with visible attitude. I thanked her, but she ignored me and rolled her eyes again.
Things escalated further when I pulled forward to what I thought was the food window (as it had been used the day prior). Veronica abruptly yelled at me, demanding to know what I was doing and telling me in a very rude and aggressive tone that I was at the wrong window. I explained that I had received food from that window before, but her attitude only became more hostile.
Her behavior was extremely unprofessional, and frankly, alarming. She appeared emotionally unstable and reactive over a situation that involved no disrespect or rudeness on my part. I was shocked that someone in customer service, particularly in a setting as widely visited as McDonald’s, would treat a customer this way — especially one with young children and an elderly parent in the car.
I don’t typically leave reviews, but this encounter was disturbing enough that I felt compelled to speak up. I genuinely hope this matter is addressed by management, as no customer should be treated this way — and no one so volatile should be handling food or interacting with the public in such a...
Read moreThis McDonald's is great. Friendly people everyday, not just occasionally. Everyone that works. There is super nice no matter what time of day it is and they're always super helpful. The place is always clean. If it's not you let them know they'll go right and clean it, especially the bathrooms. They're always clean. You can order your food right from your phone, pay for it without even having to touch your wallet or use the kiosk and they'll even deliver the food to your table. Kind of takes the phone out of fast food like it used to be but it's also pretty cool. Turns fast food into a nice dining experience and they also have Wi-Fi and a place to plug in your phone on like other fast food places. And aside from Taco Bell being an empty parking lot that burned to the ground, the only other place to go is Wendy's and they don't even have a port for you to plug your phone in or anything. And to be honest, the food's cheaper but it's terrible. So if you're ever going to go to a McDonald's I suggest the one in Honesdale. No offense to Wendy's. Lol But that restaurant needs a makeover and a better way to get in and out. It's terrible spot for a restaurant terrible parking. Mcdonald's the only thing I don't like about it was the drive-thru the way they have it mapped out. People just don't know how to follow signs and they are driving across the drive-thru and ripping through lanes and almost running people over. And I wouldn't be surprised if there's been many many close calls or accidents in this area. Because it's part of the route 6 Mall. It's very busy so be careful when driving...
Read moreThis location is awful, I have placed many orders through doordash and everytime they forget something on my order. HEATHER, the manager is extremely unprofessional, doesn't not know how to take accountability and is blatantly rude. There are nice managers there but she is awful. I ordered two days in a row. Both days they forgot my chicken nuggets. The manager i spoke with the first day was very apologetic and put my name in a book. Today she swore she put the nuggets in there and accused my doordash driver of taking them. The bags were closed and I would not call to get free nuggets when the nuggets were already free as part of a promotion. Absolutely absurd. Just admit they forgot and trybto make it right. When I said I will speak to another manager she was "i am the district manager" well hooty tooty.....I should take your job because you clearly don't know what...
