First time here on a Sunday evening at 5:30 PM. Overall the food is outstanding and rates 5 stars, unfortunately almost everything else was either zero or one star. Let me explain:

I counted 11 employees at work during our meal....most seemed to be focused, but some seemed dazed and wandered around aimlessly carrying one or two items out to tables at a time.

We were able to oder immediately and ordered several appetizers (they call them munchies) and 2 12" sandwiches in order to sample a cross section of the menu. I ordered a fountain drink and my wife got a margarita from the bar. Our total cost was $54.38 without the margarita (it was $8). It's definitely a high priced Sandwich Restaurant.

Drinks - ZERO STARS....my wife's margarita had a bug in it when she sat down and started to have her first sip ( the bartender did immediately replace it).... I wanted to try their kool-aid that their website advertises as "You have loved it since childhood, why not keep loving it?" Well I'll keep loving it from my childhood as they were all empty and one of the dazed employees said "Oh we didn't make any more"....are you kidding me?

Dining Area - ZERO STARS.... nearly every open table or booth was covered with trash from the previous customer's meals.... I cleaned a booth for us (umm there's only one small trash can by the empty kool-aid dispenser) good luck if you plan on eating there. The bar was packed and the bartender did seem to keep it clean. I watched one table not get cleaned for the entire time we were there which was about an hour.

Wait Time - One Star..... we waited 42 minutes for our meal.....really? This isn't a 5 star dining experience where timing doesn't matter.

Food - 5 Stars....

French Onion Soup - 4 Stars....would have been 5 stars if they'd cooked the onions longer

Greek Meatballs - 5 stars..... Simply Amazing!!!

Marinara Meatballs - 4.5 Stars....the sauce is excellent!

Pretzels - 4 Stars ...soft and tasty....more dipping sauce options would definitely help

Sandwiches - 5 Stars.....the bread is Out of this World....we wanted the Garlic Herb (not available.....duh!) so we went with the white. The ingredients are fresh and are definitely first class!

Overall Cheba was a mixed experience....we almost asked for a refund and left after the bug incident, but we're glad we "roughed" out our dining experience. I hope they can improve on the MANY areas that are lacking before we try them again. If you don't mind waiting FOREVER (the wait was about a half hour just to order when we left) and are willing to be your own busboy, then go for it (just hope your drinks...

I was looking for a “Fun” themed restaurant to take my daughter and Sweetheart for a Valentines lunch (couldn’t interfere with Super Bowl.) I was a little concerned due to the theme, but after checking reviews and the company website, I was satisfied that it would be reasonably safe for my daughter. Prior to our visit, I had a conversation with her explaining the theme concept and that I was not endorsing drug usage. I explained that it was sort of making fun of drug use. Now, on to the actual restaurant experience. While it was not particularly “Fun” place, it was certainly upbeat and pleasant with lots of tv screens showing a variety of entertainment. We ordered from a large clearly worded menu mounted on the wall. The operational flow for selecting and ordering food then self serving drinks was simple and efficient. There were tables of various heights as well as booths and also a stocked bar to allow seating to suit your tastes. After obtaining a beer from the bar, our “Not-chos” arrived as an appetizer, just as we requested. Initially, we weren’t impressed with them but they DID grow on us, although, ultimately, they seemed a too salty. We ended up liking them but probably wouldn’t order them again. Our subs came at just the right time and appeared “open faced” with all the toppings pleasantly revealed. All three of our party had different subs and all were VERY impressed with their choice of sub. They were all VERY good! We also got two of the “Gooballs” for dessert but were too full to eat them so we took them home to enjoy during the Super Bowl. So, if you can overlook the marijuana theme (which is not “all in your face,”) you’ll certainly be satisfied with Cheba Hut. I will definitely...

I had a great experience here with the food and the laid back environment. The food made me drool. I've been missing out on good sandwiches. I love the artwork and design. I do have to say the first time I went, the interactions were a bit odd and uncomfortable. My coworker and I stopped by for lunch. I decided not to give them my business because the employees working that shift were very standoffish and rude towards us as if we didn't belong there. The people at the register didn't welcome us, they were straight to the point and acted annoyed with my coworker as she ordered, cutting her off though she already knew what she wanted. It seemed like the sandwich maker and the guy at the register didn't want to be there. When they handed my coworker her food they didn't say anything just shoved it at her like they wanted us out asap. The people that came in behind us were treated entirely different. Were welcomed, complete shift in attitude. It wasn't even busy. I didn't want to jump to the conclusion that it was a racial thing, maybe just poor customer service. I decided to give them another chance and was glad I did! I think it was just the day staff that day that turned me off from this place for a while. The recent two times I went with my boyfriend, everyone was friendly and attentive. Small talk with staff was funny. Between me and my boyfriend (mind you we got the largest size) we spent...

I wanted to update my review. In my last review I rated low because the bartender refused to sell me a drink even though I'm almost 60. Texas law says if a person looks over 40 an ID isn't required, I stopped coloring my hair and it's mostly gray, so yea, I definitely don't need to show my ID. Because she asked I showed her my recently expired drivers license but she refused to accept it so I ate somewhere else that night. Management reached out to me to apologize and comped a small sandwich and a dessert for my next visit. I'm glad they did because I was prepared to never return although it's in my neighborhood. I ordered the chronic and the onion soup. I'd had the onion soup on my first visit and I was looking forward to having it again because it is delicious. The chronic was great too, I asked to substitute the pickles for fresh jalapeños instead and the added heat kicked it up a notch. I would definitely order it again but would omit the bbq sauce. I also want to return and try a few of their other sandwiches. I'm not really a sandwich person but their hot sandwiches with the garlic bread are exceptional. Their signature drinks and the cool vibe of the place make it very inviting, even for this almost 60 year old. I will definitely be returning.

If you haven't tried this place you gotta go. I decided to try it because like most people i love me a sandwich. I don't normally do toasted unless it's a sandwich that needs it like a chicken bacon sandwich and etc but when I saw the website for this place i had to try it. Most of their subs are toasted but there are non toasted options. They have such a diverse menu you can find just about anything. They even have options like peanut butter and jelly. The concept of the place is when you smoke weed and want a snack or food but don't let the vibe throw you off. The workers are awesome and the service is great. We got the La Canana which is their Italian sandwich and white widow which is their chicken bacon sandwich. Overall the flavors were there and their meats are great quality. The sandwich is evenly portioned making every bite as good as the previous one. I highly recommend this place...and don't forget the cookie. Omg is it was soft and just perfect! Don't sleep on it!
