I stumbled on this joint last week and have been a couple times now. The manager Ali is super friendly and accommodating. He is a piece of the new ownership puzzle and they have done a nice job updating the inside with fresh paint. The restaurant is super clean as well.
I tried the pizza on my first visit and enjoyed the heck out of a cheesesteak yesterday. The pizza is thin crust with a nice little crisp to it to give a nice texture while chewing. Great quality on the cheese and marinara that blend so well together. I just got pepperoni because my kids are a bit picky on toppings, but again...great quality on the pepperonis that curled a bit in baking and had a wonderful pop of flavor. They do not use the cheap thin pepperonis that these other joints use that lack flavor and zest. Well done on the pizza Ali! I think it was about $15, but the pie was huge. Great value, great flavor, and leaves these $5 pizza joints in the dust.
Yesterday I wanted to try something different. Ali suggested the Deenâs cheesesteak, which was already one of my options that I had narrowed it down to. I am from up north originally and it is tough to find a good cheesesteak down here. I was not disappointed. They go the extra mile and have done their homework. Again, the bread (bomber roll), cheese, and steak are great quality. Nice soft roll that is toasted up just a bit to give you a little texture. Nice melt and flavor to the cheese that does not overpower the sandwich. I nice amount of tender steak makes for a good size sandwich. The Deenâs comes with onion and green peppers, which are done nicely and do not get in the way of the steak.
These guys are doing a great job here! I will be back next week, but honestly do not know if I will try something new. The pizza and steak are pretty darn good! Keep up the friendly...
Read moreLet me begin this review by informing anyone reading that I, too, am a restaurant owner who's establishment specializes in cheesesteaks. With that being said, here is my review. The experience that I had it Deen's was very pleasant. My wife and I found this place by accident, and decided to try them out. She had the Philly cheese steak with light veggies, and I had the same with provolone and cheese whiz and extra veggies. Both of our cheesesteaks where very well prepared. The meat was juicy and tender, the veggies and the Amoroso roll were fresh, and the service was pristine. The Establishment was clean and comfortable, and the owner, knowing that I also owned a restaurant that sold Philly cheese steak, was not hesitant at all to give me advice. All and all, the experience was very nice. If I had to critique anything, or if I where to change anything, it would only be the french fries, the menu on the wall not having the prices on the items, and the wall separating the dining area from the kitchen. Both of which are only personal preference issues. The fries tasted good, and we're hot and crispy, but of course, my establishment cuts our fries from potatoes, and Deen's Fry's tastes as though they are pre-cut. The wall separating the dining area from the kitchen prohibits any viewing of the food prep. Many consumers would like to see their food being made, but again that is only personal preference. Although the menu on the wall does not have the prices, there are menus available for customers that do have the prices posted. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Deen's 2 anyone looking for an authentic Philly...
Read moreHonestly felt super underwhelmed by this place and wonât go back.
Put in an online delivery order for a medium supreme pizza. On the note for special requests, asked if it could be half supreme half pepperoni. I was paying for the supreme, which is more expensive, so I assumed the restaurant could accommodate. There was no place to pay extra for splitting the pizza or I would have done so since half the house hold eating doesnât eat supreme. Also ordered cheese sticks and a coke with my meal
When the food arrived, pizza was all supreme. Cheese is extra bland, greasy and very little sauce. The cheese sticks were decent. Coke was missing. Called the restaurant at least 3 times no answer. Finally called from another phone, they answered, unsure if itâs coincidence or they avoided my call from the caller ID.
Asked about why the pizza wasnât half supreme half pepperoni, she stated because it wasnât paid for. Asked her why didnât any one call me since I left my number to clarify the order or called to ask if I wanted to pay extra for it . She said sorry about that. Also asked about my coke, she said oh yeah itâs sitting right here sorry. Do you want to pick it up ? I just paid $5 for delivery fee and an extra $4 for tip âŚ. If I wanted to pick up my food I would have saved the extra $9 I just spent for convenience.
She refunded me $2 exactly for coke, no tax given back and wasnât really apologetic or tried to help make it a better experience. So all in all the pizza wasnât very good much less the customer service. At least if one of the two was decent I...
