Nice place with OK food. I was a semi-regular there until they pulled a stunt my credit card company labeled fraud.
I was at the bar for a couple hours and because of shift change I ended up with two tabs, one about $80 that was closed with the first bartender and second was closed before I left for about $50.
The next day I noticed 3 charges on my credit card. I went back and left my number for the manager to call. Bartender told me this happens all the time, which left me a little concerned.
Kristin texts me about 4 days later said I walked on my tab. I asked her for the receipts. I pointed out that the $30 tab they say I walked out on was closed about 30 mins before I closed my second tab. I told her that wasn't my tab and it doesn't make sense that I paid the larger tab 30 mins after I supposedly walked out on the other. She said she talked to the bartenders and that is what happened. I said alright and contacted my credit card company.
After about 30 days Wells Fargo determined that fraud had occurred. I understand that mistakes can be made, but when it's pointed out to a manager, it should be cleared up quickly with an apology.
They lost a semi-regular over $30. The hassle of fraud on my end was changing all my payment information because they issue a new card when fraud is determined.
The worse part, I am a generous tipper and I asked that my tips be refunded because you know, they tried to rip me off, and they declined. The tips easily covered the tab, so in the end they weren't out anything for committing fraud. And upon reflection, it does seem like there has always been an extra beer on my previous tabs but I always put that down as an error on my side, now it seems likely they were padding tabs.
I am still contemplating filing a...
Read moreEdit: updated to four stars because the owner Linda just reached out to me and she was very gracious. I appreciate her dedication and desire to provide quality that meets the customers expectations. We will return and give it another chance.
Been here several times over the past month and here’s my take: the arcade is awesome (my daughter loves it), the food is passable, the drinks are legit, the service is sub-par.
Arcade: great selection of pinball, skee ball, air hockey, video games. My 8yo daughter loves the dance game and the adults love the competitive PacMan.
Food: hit or miss, with some good items and some items that are not so good. Kiddo loves the hot dogs. We’ve had some items that were better on different visits so probably a kitchen staff issue.
Drinks: the frozen drinks are great, beer selection is fair with some good stuff.
Service: if you’re not at the bar, good luck. You have to go to the bar to order and rarely does anyone come check on you. Covid has really hurt this workforce and I understand the industry is struggling now.
Last straw: they are 21+ after 7pm. This is only stated on their website. Not on the door, the menu, in the arcade. Nada. On our last visit one of the bartenders announced at 7:30 that it’s adults only after 7pm and they’re 30 mins past and all the kids have to go. We were shocked. No “kid last call” or anything. I checked the facility and saw no signage. Maybe I missed it but I don’t think so. They ran out 80% of their customers with this announcement and the bartender hounded all the kids and people until they left. Needless to say, it was not a pretty sight. Their website does state this policy so I’m ok with leaving, but it was handled poorly and I doubt we will return....
Read moreWe traveled to this arcade from Baton Rouge to play the dance game stepmania X. I understand that most patrons of this bar are not coming for two 3-hour dance game sessions over the course of the weekend but the high quality of my experience should cover all of you.
A few of my friends had vouched for how nice the place was but I was certainly not expecting the level of service and care that was put into the experience.
This place is a delight. Instead of just being a bar that happens to have video games in it, they take pride in their set up and have made the place an enjoyable place to actually play the games. Not many modern arcades remember to do this. There is even a table and chairs near the game for you to sit.
The servers and bartenders were all very friendly to us even when we just wanted more water. If you are also looking to play stepmania X then just note that later into the evenings they start to play loud dance music. However this music is being played in the other room so it doesn’t terribly affect gameplay. I’ve been in other arcades where they are blaring loud rap music over the intercom and you can’t hear anything.
Even compared to other places in the area for dance games I still prefer Einstein’s. Max bowl in Humble is overpriced comparatively. Dave & Buster’s and main event are crowded and overpriced.
I hope this place does well and to go to it many more times. I also hope that management never forgets what made it successful and continues with the...
