El Regio Mexican Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Texas

Today between 2:30 & 2:45 I Patronized this business because I want Mexican food. Well go through the drive thru there's not a mic for you to place an order. There was a car in front of me waiting for their food so I waited over 5 minutes to pull up to a window who I was rudely Interacting with. She comes to the window throws her head back ( like what's up) can I help you. I tell her I want a taco salad with Fajita meat . She says, anyway else (negatively) then I tell her I want a El Houston. She says, anything else. I said yes with ground beef. ( By this time I am annoyed with her customer service. So when she comes back to the window I tell her she has bad customer service. She asked me why, I tell her your Presentation at this window , you didn't greet me and you have an attitude... she says well , it's almost quitting time we been here since 5 am I am tired. So she goes on to assume that I didn't have a job by saying I don't know if you know what it is like. I told her I WORK IN RETAIL your customer service is bad. (She also told me she's a MANGER) So she have me my receipt to sign and closed the window standing there until I was ready to give it to her. So I gave her the receipt she tells me to park in slot #1 someone will bring my food out to me. So I parked because I know what that leads to , they will do something to your food. Stood inside waited for my food. As I am waiting I see people coming in being SEATED (but I thought you were closing) got my food check it. Looks okay to take home. Ask this manager what is her NAME(( JUDITH)) is the name she gave me. Slim lady , long dark black hair, wore blue braces.. Get home eat the tacos I ordered... MEAT IS NOT COOKED ALL THE WAY I WAS GIVEN OLD GROUND BEEF . TACO SHELL WAS STALE... SO I AM GOING TO SAY BECAUSE I DIDN'T LOOK LIKE JUDITH SHE FIGURED SHE COULD JUST TREAT ME ANY KIND OF WAY BASED ON MY LOOKS BECAUSE IN THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING EVERYONE LOOKED LIKE HER. NOT LIKE THIS BEAUTIFUL HEBREW QUEEN THAT I AM. SHE OWES ME AN APOLOGY FOR HER POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SHE ALSO NEED TO BE COACHED/ WRITTEN UP FOR HER ACTIONS. WHETHER SHE HAD BEEN THERE 30 MINUTES OR ALL DAY. YOU AS A SUPERVISOR SHOULD HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AT ALL TIMES. NO MATTER THE SKIN TONE OF A PERSON OR WHAT A PERSON LOOKS LIKE. Been here twice. Service is ok. The restaurant gets busy on a Sunday afternoon. It's not that spacious and the seating arrangement will have you sitting quite close to other groups.

FOOD AND DRINK: Limonada (5/5) - Best to order without ice. It's not super sweet. Perfect sugar level for me.

Chile con Queso (3/5) - The meat appears to not be ground beef. The white cheese is nice. Needs more flavor overall.

Chicken Flautas (1/5) - The flautas needed more flavor. The 'guacamole' was just smashed avocados. The rice and beans was meh. I've had better. Don't recommend.

Parillada Combo (3/5) - Ordered beef, chicken, and shrimp. Comes with a side of charro beans, pico de gallo, salad, and tortillas. We got a mix of flour and corn tortillas. The corn tortillas were handmade. The shrimp was butterflied and overcooked. The beef and chicken was ok. Could use more flavor/seasoning. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. The charro beans had great flavor. Enjoyed the rice and beans the most.

Had a side of beef short ribs (can't recall the name in Spanish) and that was also a favorite for me. 5/5. Well seasoned and lots of flavor!! Highly recommend. Better flavor than the beef fajitas.

If I return again, I would like to try their desserts...

I received absolutely the worst food and horrible service at Mexican Grill & Bar El Regio from the Waitress Vanessa this evening about 7:00 PM I ordered two beef fajita tacos and al carbon Gordita. Both were so chewy it was like gum. My wife order tostadas and had black avocado slices on it. We let our waitress know and asked for it to be replaced. Somehow our server, Vanessa, seemed to be offended in some way by us. We did not complain about anything but The bad avacado slices. I believe it was me asking for a refill on my tea set her off. From that point on she took great steps to ignore us. Asked three times for the check. Finally asked another waitress for it. When she dropped it off she was a bit rude. When we discovered check was wrong as they added the extra cost of the replacement avacado we told Vanessa and my god it set her off again. She asked my wife did you eat it? Wife said yes. She threw the corrected receipt at on the table and said I’ll be back. This place is not how it used to be where you enjoyed good food and great service, it is a Shame. I Would not recommend this Restaurant to anyone now. If You want to enjoy a good Mexican food Restaurant go to La Fonda. Much better food...
