Great pizza place! Full bar. Great list of wines and cocktails. I didn't check out the beers but I'm sure they are good. Have a large bar area with seating. The outside seating area wasn't being used yet but will offer additional seating and should be nice once it cools down. Menu included items like pasta dishes, pizza, and even wings! (Wings originated from an Italian restaurant anyway so it makes sense. ) there were three types of pizza - focaccia crust, thin crust, and regular crust. The regular crust was the create your own option, the others couldn't really have any variations. We had two thin crusts the Genovese and the veggie one. The Genovese had pesto, basil, tomatoes and grilled chicken - very good 👍 and the veggie had eggplant, tomatoes and zucchini with a demiglace reduction on top. I was surprised how good eggplant was on a pizza! Tasted very good. The thin crust pizzas were served on a rectangle wood board and the pizza itself was rectangular with square slices. It could serve two people well but if you are extra hungry I'd recommend an appetizer. One of their specials for today was salmon cakes with a spicy sauce. I thought the place and menu was going to be a bit more casual (considering it's a pizza place) but it was definitely a bit nicer/upscale than expected. There were two kid menu items: chicken tenders and Alfredo pasta. I asked for the kids pasta but sub a red sauce and it was very good. They serve focaccia bread at the table but you have to ask for it, and there is a separate charge. They also had a great list of desserts and had them in a glass case so you can see. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to go again! Even for the first day we only waited 15mins during lunch and service was...
Read moreWhen we arrived (party of three) we were seated on the patio at approximately 7:15. Our waiter did not arrive until 7:30. (Not a big deal as they were a little busy.) We were able to order drinks, and an appetizer with no issue. He said he would bring us some bread in just a few. The time is now 7:55 our waiter has not come back to check on us to ask us what we would like to have for our entrée. (I don’t know if this is because we’re on the patio and the waiter would rather spend time inside in the AC or if he really gives a damn about customer service.)
He finally sees that we are agitated, & that our drinks or as dry as sierra desert… He goes back over to ask us what we want to eat. We tell him him that we would like a supreme pizza. A salad, and a medium pepperoni pizza. & refills. So we wait and we wait, and we wait some more….. The time is now 8:20 he clearly did not put our order in, and he’s not very attentive to his customers because he came over to “verify what we ordered” except he asked what was our second pizza and wrote it down. Our pizzas finally arrive at 8:45. No salad, he forgot to put the order in and still no bread. This place’s management is amateur at best…
There’s staff on the patio. Was not attentive at all and we were not the only ones. There were tables behind us that were waiting well over 30 minutes just to get their ticket to leave. If you’re looking to spend your dollar at a restaurant and you wanna enjoy your evening out in Canyon Lake I would suggest saving your money and you would be better off spending it at Hunts pizza at the convenient store down the street. Hell, at least you can eat within a timely manner and enjoy the sunset...
Read moreA family fav, along with Gennaro's and Wildflour and my first visit with daughter and little grands & friend. Excellent but for two issues with the server. She was attentive and personable. But, she brought out the wrong salad. She stated it was the wrong order before setting it on the table. I expected her to then correct it but my daughter gave in and accepted (though we both dislike capers). The second point was more concerning. We had boxed up the kid's leftovers and paid the tab, but had the equivalent of two more small glasses of wine in the bottle. She offered a bag to take it out, but being comfortable and in conversation, we said, no, we'll finish it here. She came back and asked again. She had a table of 12 coming in with a reservation and wanted to join the tables. We could move outside. This was at 7 p.m. We had been there for approximately 40 minutes. We were having a lovely and relaxed dining experience. Another 15 minutes to finish our wine, conversation, gather the kids, and head back home would've been about an hour from seating to leaving. I felt rushed, and a bit put off being asked to move outside. Deciding to avoid any conflict, my daughter said it was okay. The kids were tired. We'll take the bottle home. Aside from that odd power struggle, the crabcake and pasta was exquisitely delicious. The kids loved their pizza and Alfredo dishes after devouring the mozzarella sticks and the extra order of foccacia bread. I'm looking forward to dining at Gennaro's, my daughter's other favorite...
