Dine here as soon as you can. It is really good. Well, the high point of my day was a visit to this barbecue place on the east side of Houston off of I 10 and the Sam Houston Parkway. I had read about it in the Houston Chronicle and some business on that side of town gave me the opportunity to check it out today. I met the pitmaster Michael and was truly impressed by the ribs and the brisket and the sausage and the potato salad. It kind of brought back memories of when I first had barbecue at Thelma’s, back in the day. When I was first visiting there, she hadn’t quite been discovered yet We became friends, and I would bake a loaf of bread for her, and when I would come in the door, she was look up at me, smile and say “you got my bread?” The barbecue and meeting Michael today left me with a big smile on my face and all I can say is, if you’re heading east on I 10 you should really consider a stop here along your. Or make a special trip (check the hours of operation ), Thinking about it, currently, I think it is probably my favorite barbecue in the city.

Today, Flossie’s BBQ gained 2 loyal customers. My boyfriend and I crave bbq 5 days a week. Typically, we’ll grill a slab a ribs, some sausage, throw on a good movie and enjoy the day. Unfortunately, the weather was too gloomy for anything other than take out and chill. We stumbled across Flossie’s googling the closest restaurants in an attempt to get a craving for something. Being self proclaimed pit masters lol we had little to no hesitation choosing this bbq place we had shockingly never seen before (despite the 5min distance) From the small mom & pop shop ambience, to the hand crafted menu… the aroma alone.. we knew this was gonna be good. Our plates were served full enough we had lunch, dinner, & a snack leftover. We met the chef, who came out the kitchen with an apron and a huge smile. Extremely friendly and humble, my boyfriend and I were even happier to find the food was just as amazing and warm as the owner/chef. We made sure the sweet girl at the counter knew they gained 2 new customers today. Ones who buy bbq more than we’d like to admit.

I hate to say it as someone born and raised in North Carolina but this was the best BBQ I've ever had. I got the 3 meat plate (brisket, ribs, and sausage) with 3 sides (greens, baked beans, and potatoe salad). The seasoning and smoke permeated every bite of the proteins wonderfully and just made you want to keep eating it forever. The beans were good and even though I'm not a potatoe salad person, maybe I would be if more were like this one. Now the greens... let me tell you about these greens... mama I'm sorry but these are the best greens on the planet, so good they almost outshined the bbq. My only regret is I didn't get a chance to try the rice before I left town but so glad I got to try everything else. Michael was a pleasure to meet as well and truly cooks with love and makes you feel at home right away. I was having a bad day when I went into to Flossie's, but I left with a full belly, some leftovers and a smile!

MAN OH MAN... Where do I begin? I will start off by saying that it has been an incredibly long time since i've had an all-around phenomenal dining experience in every aspect (I call it dining, even though we did take-out. :)) This restaurant is absolutely incredible in every sense of the word. The service from the owner was so WARM, KIND and INVITING, and you just felt his passion. It is so refreshing to see business owners truly care about their customers. HE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND. The food is SUPERB. Everything that we had was absolutely mouthwateringly delicious. For the sides - The beans have big chunks of sausage in them, and the potato salad blasts with flavor and has a scrumptious kick at the end. The spice is SO subtle but amazing as i've never had a potato salad like it. The meats were on a whole nother level. I ordered the three meat plate and each one was exploding with flavor! My favorite was the ribs OMGGG I literally didn't need barbecue sauce with ANY of these meats - they are seasoned perfectly and fall off the bone JUST right. The sausage was superb as well as the brisket and he kindly accomodated my request when I asked for loose cut brisket. My entire experience here left me excited to hop on yelp and write a review hahaha. This good review was well-deserved. It's nice to see a business that's doing it RIGHT. Oh, and the best part of all is the prices are INCREDIBLY affordable!!!! Don't walk - Run to Flossies! Thanks...

First time here. I Googled colla greens and this place came up as a restaurant that serves them. I saw the rating and read some of the reviews. I gave this place a try with my guy Tim. We both ordered 1 meat with 2 sides. Strangely enough we ordered the same sides, dirty rice and colla greens. Then we bought those same sides for his parents. The owner came out and talked to us numerous times. Very nice man. He was so nice he gave us free dessert. I had the strawberry cupcake and Tim had the lemon cupcake. Such a nice, generous man. The woman who took and served us our plates was very nice as well! Love you guys! ❤️ We will be back!

Update 8/3: The hours are now 12 pm on Saturday but on the door of the business it says 11:30 am. I called at 11:30 am to place an order for pick up. They answered and said to message the number my order. It takes me about 17 minutes to get there so I thought it would be ready. I still had to wait 15-20 minutes. If it weren't for their colla greens I wouldn't have waited. Also, I do not think they have candied yams even though it says it on their menu for Saturdays. This is my second time here and they do...
