I know all of the criticisms regarding Gamestop and their service and the fact that they buy a game from you for 10 dollars then sell it at 40-50 dollars on their shelves. And there was a time when I could tolerate these things.
However when I went there last week, I wanted to buy the Mass Effect Trilogy (new) for the Xbox since one of my Mass Effect disks won't work. I put a warranty on it just in case and sure enough, the new disk didn't work. I went back to swap the Trilogy for another system or at the very least get my money back but they said they could only give me another game with the same system and since it was "opened", they couldn't give me a refund.
For the record, the game was already opened when a sales associate, a young attractive woman, opened the case to examine the disks. It didn't even have a plastic wrap over it like all new games come with. Long story short, I had to pay for a completely new game, making me spend at least a hundred bucks total that day.
To add insult to injury, I traded in Mass Effect 2 and 3 earlier that week (both perfectly good AAA titles) and they only gave me 9 dollars for it. Even the person serving me looked at her screen in shock.
I apologize for the length of my rant but I want to warn people, especially gamers like myself, who are unaware of Gamestop's horrible services to be wary shopping at this exact Gamestop store or any Gamestop...
