Went here because I was told they served catfish and eggs as part of their menu. I thought that was kind of unusual. The place was busy. I went at Saturday around 10 am. Turnaround of the kitchen was pretty good. A lot of to go orders. Parking lot is may look small from the street, but it is deep. Into the lot. More parking can be found on the next lot. What I did get was a catfish platter (12.99) with over easy eggs. Eggs were done perfectly. I had some grits as well: pretty bland. Its just plain grits with some margarine on top. That led to the most interesting moment of the meal where I had a argument with my dining companion who said I should add jam to.my grits. I told him that was nasty and I would never so that or to oatmeal. I chose toast and that came out well. Catfish was prepared with the dredged flour method. It was pretty good very moist and tender, and the real deal not the stuff from Asia that is passed off as it. I also ordered a meat lovers taco (7.99). It had diced ham, sausage, and some bacon. The tortilla was fine but whole taco had way too little egg and too much potato. Way too starchy for me. Service was good and we no hassle going to the counter to pay our meal. Overall I think It was a decent place to have breakfast at, but I wouldn't make it a point to rave about it.

Open for breakfast and lunch, Frank's is a great place for traditional homestyle cooking. We went with a friend, for breakfast. They are one of a few places I've ever seen to serve liver and onions, and you can get it for breakfast or lunch. I chose Liver and Eggs for breakfast. It came with liver and o ions, and eggs cooked how you like them. Brown gravy for the liver and onions. Then I chose the has potatoes and a biscuit. The liver and onions are always great, here. It's really what keeps us going back. The eggs were sunny side up, and runny. I love breaking them on my potatoes with Cholula sauce. And their biscuit is wonderful when you spread honey on it. They do free refills on coffee, and keep your cup full. My wife chose the lunch Liver and Onions with greens and Mac n cheese as her two sides. Their greens are delicious, slow cooks with onions and a small amount of vinegar. They have many other choices to try for sides, too, but many can sell out fast. You can choose from black eyes peas to jalapeno cornbread. The staff is friendly and attentive and very welcoming. This is an excellent place to visit for good quality comfort foot with a friendly experience.

I moved to Texas from Georgia not to long ago and it’s hard for me to find food to my standards but luckily I have ran into this place. They have multiple locations around Houston but let me tell you now they are not the same! This one on HWY 6 has proven to be the best in my opinion for several reasons from the service to the deliciousness of their dishes. I usually get the three whole wings and waffle or the Biscuits and sausage gravy. I ate in once but I usually order to go through Uber or call ahead as they are usually packed out for obvious reasons! Update: the last two times I’ve ordered for pickup on Uber eats they have cancelled my order when I’m already on the way. Today I arrived at 2:50 and the pregnant one says that I can’t even place the order in person because they have closed . According to your door and google you close at 3pm. I can’t support that type of service. -3 stars 👎🏾

Never a bad experience at this place. The waitress are super friendly and the food is second to none. I would give it 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s on here if it were available. Kathy is my favorite waitress. The people giving Frank's Grill 1 star are most likely the type of people who the Lord God Almighty Himself probably couldn't please with Paradise staring them right in the face. Complaining about big portion sizes??? It's called being given more for your money. Welcome to the South God Bless Your Heart Becky R... But I doubt it!!! 😌 Good bacon is always enough to salvage an entire day, much less one experience. Mr. Reyes, they close at 3:00. Buy a watch and get a clue! Also, Kathy is their number one waitress. This place would close down if she wasn't working here. The most overworked and under paid server in Houston.

Update:

I will never step foot back in Frank's Grill On Highway 6 North. We were regulars there and our favorite waitress was a lady named Kathy. She's been there at least 17 years and has more regulars there than any other server that has worked there since we've been going. Customers there love Kathy for a reason. She treats them like family, And Bends over backwards to take care of their needs. I know because that's exactly how she's been treating us since we've been going there. But her manager running the place is an absolutely horrible person. She just had a meeting where she told all of her employees that they were trash and that they didn't deserve to keep their jobs. That couldn't be further from the truth as far as Kathy is concerned. So for us it will be First Watch on Highway 6 North. I don't see this location lasting another 6 months without her. She literally brought thousands and thousands of dollars in each month with her service. How horrible can one person be to...

A friendly neighborhood restaurant that provide quick service and well made meals. I came here for brunch around 11:30am with no wait. My friends and I were able to sit anywhere we wanted as soon as we walked through the door.

We ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs, fried catfish with mashed potatoes and green beans, biscuits and gravy.

We ate there family style, so I got to try everything. The chicken fried steak was fried to perfection, the only issue was the toughness of the steak. They put their gravy on the side, which I appreciated since that would've caused my food to be soggy. It came with hashbrowns that were lacking salt but they certainly offer Texas sized portions. This was enough for 2 people for a normal sized lunch honestly.

Their fried cat fish was also fried well. There was 2 fillets. The breading stayed on surprisingly. The green beans were the most flavorful part of the meal. I recommend getting that. Eating those with the catfish made the meal much tastier. The mashed potatoes were given in a large portion.

Finally, the biscuits and gravy was good. The biscuits were nice and flaky, the gravy needed more seasoning.

Overall, I put 3 stars because the service was great, food was cooked well, and there wasn't a wait. When we walked in, our table was still wet, which kinda grossed me out. And the food lacked some flavor. I would try it if you're looking for a decent price meal around the...

I was at Frank’s today a little after 12 noon . Wasn’t extremely full because we were 5 people and didi not have to wait to be seated and many tables were available. Just want to say our Waitress was the woman with the blue /green hair (nothing against her hair color just wanted to point her out ) she was extremely rude from the get go the manner in which she threw our menus on the table barely acknowledging us ... just pooor service ... when she came back she was extremely short (like get to the point ) took our order and my Father who is 90 years old said may I have my coffee ( he wanted to take his meds ) and her response was I can’t pour it out of my fingers I have to go get it !!! Really harsh and disrespectful... I was so ready to leave and not stay .. only stayed because my Brother in law was in from out of town .. didn’t want to cause a scene .. but let me just say that woman ruined my meal couldn’t eat after that she barely checked on us my drink was empty for the entire time of my meal just the worst ... that lady doesn’t belong there ..either she doesn’t like to serve us or she hates her job and my family left her a good tip which she def didn’t earn !!!! Never again . We love Frank’s Grill we tried to impress my husband’s brother never again she ruined our visit . I tried to complain in person but nobody was at the register. Hope someone actually ...
