Hacienda Real Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Texas

Friendly service. Had better food, 3 out of 4 entrees were extremely salty in everyones opinion upon tasting it, and honestly a little bland. They also dont use real cheese... on the dishes with any type of queso or cheese melted on top such as the enchiladas, tamales and burritos(etc) even for the taco salad's 'shredded cheese,' it seemed they used some kind of processed cheese like velveeta or off-brand-liquid-block-sh*t.. (which hey dont get me wrong, on the right thing done the right way like for nachos can be the bomb) but when you go to a restaurant that describes themselves as having authentic mexican/tex-mex or really any food of any kind, youd expect some real cheese. My mama found this place on Yelp with overall good/decent reviews, decided to have lunch with the fam.... a few mins into our meal she shared her disappointment with us, apologized and stated that she definitely wont be returning. We all agreed. Water tasted like straight chlorine (happens a lot of places) however my sisters first glass of water tasted fine lol weird. The michelada I ordered was not the greatest, gas station canned micheladas are better than this one. I dont typically bother writing reviews no matter how good or bad an experience is.. but this place kinda stood out to everyone in my family as disappointing quality wise and I see the place is very over-rated. But hey if yall like it, cool go for it. But I recommend going elsewhere.. even taco bell it's right around the corner 😉...

I came to this restaurant because most of the other reviews were great so I expected the food to be great too. However, I found it was not the case when we arrived. The food looked good but it did not taste good. The queso tasted exactly like Taco Bell cheese sauce. The margarita tasted of cheap mixer only. Enchiladas and tacos we ordered were not that great. On top of this, the entire dining area has recessed lighting and ceiling fans throughout. When the fans are on, it makes the lights flash because the fan blades are passing in front of the recessed lights. So the entire time your in the dining area, everything appears to be flashing no matter where you look. Gave me a headache after a few minutes. And to top it all off, our server seemed to have forgotten about us for at least 20 minutes while we sat there waiting on our check. And the restaurant was not busy at all as most of the tables were empty. We overheard a table near us complaining to the manager as well that their food arrived cold and they were not happy with their meal. I will say the manager was very friendly and greeted us when we arrived and when we left.

After waiting over an hour for our food, the waitress literally yelled at my husband that she was busy!!!! Yet, a family of six who arrived after we did was on their way to their car as we were leaving, never to return. I asked them if they were served their meals. They said yes! And OMG! You guys never got your food!!! You were here before us!!! We not only didn't get served but got yelled at by the lady server in the bar. That is were they sat us! With our kid! We had four other people ask us if we wanted more chips. We ate three baskets of chips! When she finally came back to our table, she was mad at us for wanting our food instead of more chips. The manager came to us several times and asked how we were doing. Many offered to check on our food. We were fine. Patiently waiting until she showed up and yelled at my husband. In 20 years, we have never walked out a restaurant. I have never seen my husband get angry. We were servers at Red Lobster when we met. We have a lot of patience. This girl was very wrong to yell at us. We went to 7 Leguas right down the street and told them what happened. They didn't charge us!!!! Everything was on the house. We got our meals right away, too. We'll never go to...
