The Golden Retriever — Restaurant in Texas

I am so very thankful to have this as a local bar! Golden Retriever Pub does not look like much from the outside but, has an awesome Irish pub/dive bar style inside! They have nice pool tables, dart boards, a comfortable bar and lounge area. All the bartenders I've met are super nice and attentive. Oh, I've almost forgotten the most important feature... THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A GOOD CRAFT BEER TAP LIST!!! I am honestly surprised (in a good way) by something they have on tap every time I go. Their craft bottle selection is small but always rotating. The four out of five stars comes from the only negative feature of this bar; they allow smoking inside. For me personally, I like to be able to smoke in a bar but, my wife not so much. If you want a super relaxed spot where its easy to get a mixed drink or craft beer and don't mind smelling like smoke, this...

The wife and I visited since its local to us,, wow a really beautiful place with the decor i love and a perfect atmosphere for drinking!!! In fact it reminded me of the bars where I grew up. Now the reason why i can't rate it higher. Although not a busy Saturday night the "knock out" bar keeper was not very friendly or attentive. We guessed that they sold food because we could see a gentlemen hanging around a door of what we could see was probably a kitchen. Again we were not told they served food nor was a menu ever offered. Lastly,, yuk they allow smoking with apparently no non smoking section,, I must say it has been years since my cloths smelled like cigarette smoke from a 30...

What a breath of fresh air was our visit with Kayla today! I was having a case of the Mondays and popped in for one of my favorite snacks! They have a bacon grilled cheese and it is so good I crave it when running errands. Kayla is always keeping a clean area and atmosphere for her customers and makes us feel right at home. Polite demeanor and quick with service I never worry if I’ll have enough time to stop in! If I’m in a rush I can even call my order in and she will make sure it’s ready in a jiffy! Love this bar before she started and couldn’t be happier for the new addition.
