friendly and quick greeting upon arrival. Very decorative atmosphere with Mardi Gras theme. Big bar area. Nice patio seating. Tvs everywhere. Our menus were shredded on the corners. That should have been my first indication of the night. Granted, there might be some wear over the years, but we were 1 of 2 tables there. You would think the host would have chosen a better-looking menu. They need updating. The server also gave me a glass that looked like it was rubbed against concrete. He was very inattentive, had no suggestions, did not refill our drinks without request, and had to be told 3 times how to split the bill with only 5 items on it. The food was mediocre at best. The only thing we really enjoyed was the crab cake. The flavor was nice, however, very greasy and mushy. After halfway, it just becomes overbearing. Fried calamari was decent also, presentation was very bland for all 3 dishes. Boudin balls were lightly breaded, and we enjoyed those the most. Opted for the crawfish poboy since they said they were known for them. Sandwich was served to me wrapped in foil and upside down, so when I opened it, everything fell out. Also menu doesn't state what the sandwich comes with, mayo, pickles, lettuce and tomato, the server didn't tell me they would come on the sandwich, my wife and I were sharing, we don't like mayo and pickles. There's no picture of the poboy to show what comes with it. This place seemed to be only good if you wanted market seafood boils. All the tables around us ordered boils. It was our first time and we were very unimpressed. 3 out 10.

When we first walked in, we were seated by the hostess to a booth near the bar. The restaurant wasn't super packed, but the shift manager (Chantelle) ended up being the person who was serving us our orders for the evening. She suggested the frozen spicy mango cocktail for starters, which was delicious, and a cup of seafood gumbo and 1/2 dozen oysters on the halfshell as appetizers. The oysters were nice and cold and tasted fresh and not slimy. It also came with a vinegary house dressing that I found quite nice. We told her that it was our first time at Hank's, and she explained the spiciness level of the crawfish, and we went with 4 pounds of the medium spicy with the garlic sauce. It's always a little iffy when visiting an unfamiliar restaurant for the first time, but we were pleasantly surprised. Although some of the crawfish leaned towards the smaller size, the flavor was spot on. You can tell they did not rush the boil and allowed the flavor to fully engulf the crawfish. Also, the gumbo wasn't as spicy as I would have liked it to be, but a little hot sauce made it better, so no complaints. The roux tasted good and had nice flavor. Overall, it was a good experience. We left with a full stomach and a smile on our face. We will definitely be back to Hank's for our crawfish fix next time we have a seafood craving!

I tried to call in advance but was left on hold too long. That should have been an indication of service. The location on highway 6 is small. By my error I went to the Pickup window. Ordered my food and after a ten minute wait was told to pull up since multiple car behind me me were into the street. After 35 minutes, I went inside. The cashier said he was the manager and only offered an apology 🙄 The restaurant was not busy, but served everyone but me while in the parking lot. I saw the manager go back to the kitchen and have my order made. After 5 more minutes or so my order was ready. I ordered the bowl of seafood gumbo which has crab, sausage and shrimp with white rice on the side. The dark tint to the gumbo almost looked burnt. I was not impressed. Actually I wanted to hate everything based on the absolutely abysmal service. But the 3 piece fish with fries was so fresh and tasty it had to bump from 1 to 2 stars. I told the manager before I ordered that it was my first visit. And when I left I told him who never offered his name, that I would never come back. Venture there with caution ⚠️

I have been a devoted customer for many years and have always enjoyed the great food and excellent service provided. However on January 22, 2017 at approximately 6:30 PM I experienced the most vulgar and rudest server I have ever experienced in my life. Our server was a young lady by the name of Tracy. She lacked rudimentary customer service skills and did not possess the tact to mention a particular policy prior to taking our order.

Apparently there is a policy that is written in very small print on the menu that states “Maximum of 2 credit cards split per table”. I’ve been here plenty of times with groups of 8+ and never, ever had an issue when it comes to paying on separate tickets. So when I asked for my check, Tracy referenced this particular policy. We were a group of 7 and I feel like it was her job to inform each of us of this policy prior to taking our orders, ideally at the time of being seated. I was very surprised of this due to the fact I’ve never had an issue like this before in the past even when I’ve been with larger groups. I then asked to speak to the manager. Upon asking for the manager, Tracy rolled her eyes and stated, “She’s just going to tell you the same thing,” with a very ill-mannered tone. I still insisted that she bring the manager out.

A manager by the name of Akina finally came out and explained how she has been working there for 7 years and that this has always been the policy for large groups. Akina continued by stating that it’s even on the menu. I went on to explain that I have been to this restaurant plenty of times and have never had this problem, even with much larger groups. Besides that, as a paying customer, I am not looking for policies in the menu; I am looking at the selection of food. As you would know, customers should be notified of such policies at the time of seating since we are not interested in policies when we go to any restaurant, we are simply interested in experiencing the food and the dining experience. She then said that the waitress should have informed us of this policy upon our arrival, which Tracy obviously failed to do.

I would have never made an issue of this policy if it had been enforced at my previous visits here. Akina then said she would take care of it and split the check how we requested, as separate multiple tickets. Shortly after her walking away, Tracy comes back and asked how we were going to pay for the TWO split transactions. I explained to Tracy that her manager, Akina, was going to take care of it. It was at this point the incident escalated and she yells out, “I’m your server, she’s not!” All the while shaking her head and rolling her eyes in the most unprofessional manner. At this point I was already frustrated and caught off guard by her behavior. Management ended up sending her home and while on her way out, she gave my table a very revolting look. Once she was outside, she continuously peered through the restaurant windows and even stopped dead in her tracks in order for me to take notice of her child like antics. She sat in her car for about 10 minutes, continuously staring us down, again through the restaurant window.

In conclusion, I ended up speaking to Supreme the General Manager. I really wish to speak to someone in a much higher position about this incident; I don’t feel the General Manager or Manager will do anything about this waitresses behavior based upon other reviews I have come across online that single out this particular server. I am more than willing to provide the evidence upon request. If such a request is not deemed necessary, I suggest you or someone on the corporate level look up these reviews for themselves. It is apparent that this particular server has not even been fully reprimanded for her behavior, both past and present. I come here all the time and I don’t want to feel like my safety is at risk because of this server’s behavior.

Regards, A...

This is the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. Never have I ever seen a place mess up in so many ways. Everyone knows I love crawfish and as a matter of fact I’ve eaten crawfish 4 times this week alone. I’ve heard so much about Hank’s and half of the people said it was ok and the other half said it was good. So today I finally had the time to come in and try for myself. The place was not busy at all, I counted about 5 tables total. I brought my daughter with me so we sat down and ordered. 3 lbs of crawfish, lemon pepper wings, 2 order of fried, Coke, water, and chicken nuggets. The crawfish came out almost immediately. When I opened up the bag it was saturated in sauce. Most were small, a few were medium, and two were decent sized. There were so many heads & claws that were detached from the bodies. The crawfish was way over cooked and bland. Every time I peeled an over cooked crawfish it would break up. I was so frustrated that I asked for extra lemon so I could make a dipping sauce to hopefully salvage the taste and dryness. After squeezing the lemon into a bowl I added salt and pepper to give it a kick and set it next to the crawfish. The waitress (glasses & tattoo) came over and wanted to dump my trash and spilled my dipping sauce all over my pants. She left to get a towel and said sorry. I asked for the check and a to-go bag for the crawfish. Never in my life have I ever took had leftover crawfish. She left to get the container and disappeared for 10 minutes. I watched her tend to other patrons. I still only counted 5 otter tables and 2 other servers so she couldn’t have had more three tables. She kept getting side tracked and kept apologizing. I asked for a to-go container for my daughter’s nuggets and she disappeared again for another 5 minutes while I’m standing next to my table. Finally over 20 minutes after I initially asked for my check I get my tab and container. I loaded the fries & nuggets into my box and set it down on the table and asked to speak to the manager. A couple minutes go by and the manager arrives at my table with an unimpressed look on her face. I explained to her that how over cooked the crawfish was and she apologized and said that nobody else has complained about their crawfish. I had at least 2 & a half pounds of crawfish still in my bag and offered to show her the broken bits of crawfish but she said she didn’t need to see it. After speaking to the manager I went back to my table and saw that they threw my to-go bag away which had my nuggets for my daughter in there. It was the only thing that was good and I already paid $50 for my food. Again the manager apologized and I was so irritated and tired of hearing excuses. The food was horrible, way too over cooked, and bland. I even got my own dipping sauces spilled on my blue jean pocket area, and just for their grand finale they throw away my daughter’s nuggets. Of course they offered to cook another nugget meal but I sure didn’t want to stay there for another 15 minutes while they cook it and probably spit into my daughter’s food for complaining. I didn’t want any discount, any free food or nothing. I then handed her back my bag which contained the leftover crawfish and said One day I will find out who the owner is because they need to hear about this experience. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had in not just a crawfish restaurant but in any restaurant I’ve ever been to. I will write a review in every Hank’s post until I find out who runs this establishment. I should have read these reviews instead of listening to other patrons. I have thousands of Houston followers and friends and I will be continuously telling everyone I can possibly reach to not ever bring their business to...

My last visit to Hank's left me speechless.

Our waitress never came so we asked to be served by the lady that brought us to our table. After being served by the hostess the waitress came and dropped off our food but never came back with our remaining food and beverages including my mother's salad dressing or her tea, condiments, etc. I also didn't get my entry either. We asked the hostess and she came with what was missing. My food was cold and wasn't prepared how I've had it previously.

The manger came and told me I don't normally order that entree but I couldn't understand he's reasoning becuz I literally met him once and thought he was the bartender. He told us that he didn't know why, what or anything about why our service was poor. I asked to have my food prepared properly and it was replated and given back to me. I ordered N.O. Bbq shrimp which comes with a buttery broth and French bread to sop up the broth. Its served in a bowl becuz of the broth. My dish was on a plate.

To make matters worse the manager mentioned it would take about 20 minutes to remake the dish then came back to inform me that my order could not be prepared that day with no reason why... just a blank statement repeated several times as if my questions were a bother to him.

I've visited Hank's a few times without any issues with the food or service.

It's sad that the first issue I had is with the management's willingness to correct the issue, the waitresses service and the preparation of the food.

When trying to pay for the meal our waitress told us dont worry about the payment so I went to pay the hostess but she wouldn't take the payment either. I finally asked the waitress why she would not take the payment and she said she thought I already paid.

We left confused and upset. The food is good but not worth the headache if a problem occurs.

I look forward to exploring new Cajun restaurants that offer good experiences across the board.

Life is too short to place reviews that...
