I want to gush over the venue where we hosted my daughter’s bridal shower yesterday.
We’ve been eating at Hasta La Pasta on Cypresswood for years, every now and then, when we wanted a great meal without the wait time. But when we were looking for an Italian restaurant to match our theme, I had a “been there, done that” attitude and was leaning towards newer options in The Woodlands or in Houston. While on a quick night out at HLP for dinner, Dane suggested we ask for information about their event rooms and were pleasantly shocked at how reasonably priced they were compared to the other places I’d inquired with.
Let me tell you all the reasons why I’d choose Hasta La Pasta again in a heartbeat!
The GM, Cassandra, was wonderful to work with! She went above and beyond as I planned the event, even taking the time to stage the two prospective event room options with arranged tables for our expected headcount so I could SEE which room would work better. Guess what…the less expensive option worked better! Also, she coordinated their staff to roll the cutlery in our pink linen napkins instead of their standard black, free of charge. Communication was also excellent the entire way through, she answered all my questions and effectively pivoted the table layout every time I made a tiny change to the headcount or seating chart in the final days.
Alan, one of the owners, greeted us at 10AM as we arrived to set up, not only opening the door but he actually helped us unload my car and set up the floral arch. When one of my friends inquired about adjusting her meal to match her dietary restrictions, he personally advised her on the options and ended up suggesting an alternative that worked better than what she asked for. Finally, the bride’s table position had her seated “on a crack” where two tables met, and one was higher than the other and her place setting was crooked. He (again) personally got the materials needed and raised the lower table to create a balanced look and feel for her place of honor.
The serving staff was remarkable. Two young women, Malaya (sp?) and Grace, effectively managed orders for, and serving of, 32 guests with grace and professionalism. They were very attentive, respectful, spoke to our guests by their names, and were great about checking in with me to ask when and how things needed to happen as the event progressed. I was extremely impressed! You could tell they also enjoyed being a part of such a special event!
HLP has earned our loyalty, and we’ll continue supporting them as a family owned business. Their food is delicious and the service...
Read moreI wasn’t going to leave a review but after a week has passed I’m still upset so I’m going to leave one. I took my daughter and her friend here for lunch last week. They are 15 and it was a special day. When we entered the restaurant it was completely empty and now I know why. First we received bread which was hard as a rock, not edible. Then the waitress brought out our drinks and dumped my daughters friends drink all over her. I understand that things happen but the waitress went on to blame us saying she reached for the glass when I clearly saw what happened and the waitress was the only one with hands on the glass as she clearly dumped it on her. The waitress slowly cleaned up the mess and I should have left then since I had one child drenched in coke. She never apologized. As our food was brought out the waitress was annoyed at the lack of space at the table but instead of clearing it she continued to stack more items. When the check came we were told that she could only offer a free desert for the accident that there would be nothing else she could do. I found this extremely rude since we had not asked to be compensated. We had tried to make the experience a good one even though it seemed our waitress had her mind made up to ruin that for us. I left a 15 percent tip but after leaving I realized I shouldn’t have left a tip at all. I spent over $100 for terrible food and to be treated horribly. I would not recommend this place. The food is the quality that a non Italian can make in their home kitchen and obviously they hire hateful staff. Not a good experience at all. I want...

Upon arrival the Host and hostess very attentive and welcoming, very nice, then it went downhill from there.
Got seated in the center room (Cypress Location), where the echo and reverberation of sound was deafening, now I could've asked to move to another section, but I chose to stay, so I will not fault them for that.
We sat and waited for quite a while to get acknowledged by our server, when she did, she took our drink order (5) and took two trips to get them, no alcoholic beverages, just sodas and lemonade.
Our server was absent minded, no follow through, no pre-bussing, refills were hard to get, when our food was brought and placed on a tray in front of us to be handed out, a member of my party asked for a refill (since they were hard to get), our server left to get it and LEFT our food on the tray as we stared at it, I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH MY SERVICE. The members of my group encouraged me to address these issues with the restaurant management, which I was very inclined to do so, but as the evening went on I decided that it was not worth it for me to address them, since I will not be returning, shame though, because the food was delicious, tasty and well presented.
But in the end, when I visit a restaurant, I am buying SERVICE...
