Hot Stone Bowl is a new Vietnamese restaurant, they have a very clean and open dining area, but the tables and chairs are too close to each other and not handicap accessible as far as sitting and getting around. My fiancé is legally blind and it was very hard to navigate the restaurant to get you the table they sat us at, it was impossible not to bump into other chairs.
The menu is lacking on pho with no chicken not seafood options. We did order a custom pho ga, where they substituted the beef out for chicken, but they have no correctly made broth. The broth is heavy on fish sauce and salt with no automatic spice or flavor, it was nothing more then water with salt, fish sauce, about it. They had both chicken and beef in the bowl when the only requested meat was chicken.
Their egg rolls were over cooked and not very tasty at all. They forgot the banh mi combination sandwich we ordered was completely forgotten about and we never got it.
Finally, the amount of sauce you get for your pho is a joke. They give you a small sparkle of each in a cute little bowl, very little brand sprouts and only 1 lime slices with 2 small slices of jalapeños,
The employees are nice though, but when paying for the food we ended up not eating at all, i had asked for a receipt which was printed but the lady at the counter walked away and didn't give it to me.
So we just left.
I do not recommend coming here, they are neither a Vietnamese sandwich shop nor a pho shop, plus they are not even using authentic...
Read moreGood pho. A little salty, but solid aromatic broth with ample portions of noodles and meats. Served in a, well, hot stone bowl (which does complicate bowl sipping later in the meal), but a fresh and Interesting modern variety of cuts; oxtail, ribs, brisket meatballs and filet. I didn't see tendon or tripe, but most of the diverse ingredients are there. We also all got to try the Banh Mi Fried Egg and it was a delicious and balanced Banh Mi with good bread and fresh toppings. No Bun' dishes (yet), but we'd love to see their take on cooked meats in a nice room temp drained Vermicelli. Egg rolls were good, dipping sauce was a nice chili oil and fish sauce mix, and properly seasoned. Phin-dripped Vietnamese coffee was delicious and strong. We eat pho at least once a week and have high expectations and the soup was very competent. This was not the best pho broth within a 2 mi radius of this location, but service was warm and friendly and worthy of experience and sample. I will go back for the oxtail pho and rib pho, but it won't be my weekly shop, but it's a close call. My wife likes vermicelli (Bun) more than Pho, so not having it will reduce our visits naturally and the broth saltiness will need to be a little more reduced on the next visit. Looking...
Read moreYesterday was my first and last time coming to this establishment. Unfortunately all due to the unprofessionalism of their waitress 😕 I’m still taken aback by the whole situation. Upon paying the bill and awaiting the change, I noticed a bug in my pho. It must have been there a while since it had not been moving 🤢 my mother and I were in shock and agreed we’d mention it when our waitress returned. Which we did discreetly as to not make other customers uncomfortable by the circumstance. To which the waitress responded and I quote “Well what do you want me to do about it? Do you want me to pack it up to go or what? What do you want me to do” with the most rude idgaf attitude. We weren’t looking for a free meal (hence we already paid) we just simply wanted to let them know so they were aware and honestly a genuine sorry would not have been that bad to add. But we were met with this terrible response. And we were not given the opportunity to discuss this with a manager or owner so this is why I’m writing this review to let the community know that this restaurant allows staff to treat their...
