Island Daiquiri â A Fun Go-To Spot with Great Drinks, But a Recent Visit Fell Short
Island Daiquiri has been my go-to daiquiri spot for a long time now, and Iâve genuinely grown to love the place. Whether itâs a chill weekday or a fun weekend outing, itâs always been one of those spots where I can count on good vibes, strong drinks, and great customer service. Iâve had so many positive experiences hereâespecially thanks to one of the ladies who usually works behind the counter. Sheâs super friendly, upbeat, and just brings great energy every time I walk in. Her presence is honestly a big part of whatâs made this place feel like a favorite.
That said, my most recent visit for a to-go order didnât quite meet the standard Iâve come to expect, and I left feeling a little disappointed. The guy who helped us was very nice and tried to be attentive, and I appreciate that. But even though he kept saying we werenât being rushed, I couldnât help but feel like we were being hurried along. Itâs hard to explain, but the vibe was just a little off.
There was also a second server, a woman who didnât really say anything to us at all. She seemed distant or like she might have been having a rough day. While I totally understand that everyone has off days, especially in the service industry, it did affect the energy and overall experience this time. It didnât feel like the usual warm and welcoming environment Iâm used to at Island Daiquiri.
What really gave me pause, though, was noticing some hygiene concerns. I saw someone cleaning and then turning around to serve drinks without washing their hands, which honestly caught me off guard. Thatâs just not something Iâve seen here before, and it made me feel uneasyâespecially considering how much I usually rave about the place to others.
Despite that, I want to be clear: I still love Island Daiquiri. Their daiquiris are consistently amazing, with so many fun and flavorful options to choose from. The food is also a hidden gemâperfect little finger foods that pair well with drinks, plus their Jell-O shots are always a fun touch. Theyâve nailed the formula for a good time, with great music, a vibrant vibe, and a super cute setup when they turn the lights down at nightâit gives it a cool, fun lounge feel without trying too hard.
So yes, while this last experience rubbed me the wrong way and left me a little disappointedâespecially since I hold customer service to a high standardâIâm not writing them off. Everyone has bad days, and this place has given me so many good ones. Iâll definitely be back to give them another shot and hope the next visit feels more like the Island Daiquiri Iâve come to love.
If youâve never been, I still recommend checking it out. Itâs a great spot to grab a drink, catch a vibe, and relax, no matter what day of the week it is. Just hoping my next visit brings back the experience Iâve...
Read moreIf you could give more than 5 stars I would. This place. What can I say about this place that I'm know hasn't already ready been said millions of times before. WTAF?! How come you can't have a location in the corner of my block? Why do you have to be a whole 2.8 miles away from my house?! I could probably drink at least a quarter of that heavenly a nectar you call a daiquiri in that time! This Is unacceptable! I DEMAND you immediately build a (24hr.) Location no more than 125 feet from my front door. Until then I will see you on regular basis to discuss design over some life affirming daiquiris. See you...
Read moreRun here, yall! Drinks are strong, and staff is super friendly! My go-to is always the Miami vice (Pina cold and strawberry together), but the new "sour patch kids" one is giving some serious competition! Lacey & Michael always go above and beyond to make sure you find a flavor you absolutely love, and will sample you to death to ensure you leave happy lol. The strawberry cheesecake infused jello shot is to die for, and the infused gummies are hard to beat and pack a punch! Haven't had a chance to try the food, maybe next time.
Update! Tried the food! It's good! Tiny tacos...
