Janie's Bar — Restaurant in Texas

I'm in no way a regular. I've probably gone in here half a dozen times to sing karaoke on Saturday night. I like this place. It's clean, the booze prices are reasonable, and the bartenders (Melanie & Amber) always impress me with their professionalism. Check it out next time you're in Spring.

Update 2024: Went into this place Saturday night looking for karaoke. There's a new (to me, as I've probably not been in this place in over 7-8 months) bartender named Melanie, who is just as kind and attentive as the Melanie I posted about 4 years ago, but yes she's a completely different bartender. What's funny is that when they didn't have my brand of to-kill-ya, this Melanie also managed to sell me her suggested replacement, just like the older Melanie had done before. Great place to hang out. Customers and employees are all wonderful. Sports on all TV's and beers a plenty.

Due to the allowance of smoking inside, my friends and I will not return. The smoke is too much. The smell stays with you all night. I would bring twenty of my friends if there was no smoking allowed inside! The second hand smoke is so thick, I felt like I smoked two or three cigarettes while I was there and had junk in my throat all eve. You want a little side of tobacco smoke with that bar steak? No problem, there is more than enough.

Please join hundreds of thousands of business in the US who don't allow smoking where you serve food and don't force customers to breath second hand smoke all night in such a small space. The ventilation system may work but it just...

I will never be returning to this establishment! I went in there with my sisters and cousin to try a new place and have a good time tonight, and we were treated EXTREMELY poorly by one of the bartenders. As soon as we entered we were given rude looks and then she accused us of having fraudulent id's. She then made a scene and told the other bartender not to serve us. The other bartender looked at her like she was insane, was polite to us and gladly served us drinks. We then decided to leave because she would push through us without saying anything like excuse me.
