On the Rox Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Texas

For starters I’ll share my experience from this tonight & this past Sunday .

Tonight I visited the Rox because it’s right in the area where I work , I read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. The food is pretty good especially their fired shrimp and crawfish tails also the tartar sauce!! As for tonight 01/07/2025 My first server tonight attitude was complete trash! I didn’t catch her name , it’s probably best I didn’t… I asked her do you make a bomb lemon drop, she looks at my with this smug look as if what I asked was taboo! She vaguely answered my question , while looking as if she was The least bit interested in what I was asking… I ignored that, then proceed to tell her to make my Lemon drop sweet. She made it but it wasn’t good at all! I asked her could she make it sweeter again she huffed and gave me the same smug look as if I was bothering her. So at this point I said NEVER MIND!! Then she goes on to say I can remake it, still attitude on 10000… like hell no at this point I don’t want you serving me! So another one of your kind waitress, (Black girl) with the belly ring Intervenes and says I can make it for you, she did just that and it tasted as I expected it too, and with out attitude might I add. She should be the face of your bar and not the girl with the cross tattoo in the center of her neck, her attitude stinks as bad as she looked , maybe she should also lay off the liquor while on the clock too.

All while I’m sitting at the bar she’s sending condescending smirks, staring at me the whole nine! Luckily I wasn’t on that type of time tonight and didn’t feel like matching her energy . I get some people have bad days, however this wasn’t this case, I sat and watched her treat everyone else kind, and polite and provide customer service with a smile . Meanwhile I get the trashy attitude and for what??

Waitress from Sunday was a doll!! Wish I remembered her name, I sat at the bar and her customer service skills were amazing . I’d definitely revisit. The food is on point the music is good and the vibe...

Update: decided to give the place another try. Apparently if you're friends with the staff or have a lot of money, you're more important than the Governor's mandates and the public's health & safety. Management prefers money over safety of patrons and employees. Tommy specifically said he's okay with it even though our server said they are far from okay with it. He makes them serve people who seat themselves at closed tables because of money. Ironically, they won't be getting my money. Will NOT be back.

They weren't following mask guidelines (one server wasn't wearing her mask at all), they weren't following social distancing guidelines, or capacity guidelines. Up until now, we trusted On the Rox as a safe place to go out because they were compliant. Not anymore. Shout out to Tommy, the manager. He at least apologized and showed remorse for the situation, but he wasn't wearing a mask either. The tables around us WERE closed for social distancing, but people started seating themselves there and the staff did nothing about it. I guess they were more concerned about revenue. Thanks for that. So instead of enjoying the fight, we had to argue with this fool about standing 2 feet away from us. Even in a non covid world, he was too close. Even after complaining, they STILL weren't removed from the table that was supposed to be closed. We should've left then and without paying but we stayed for the last 10 minutes of the fight and paid. But I shouldn't have, considering I have to pay for my trip to the ER now. I'm pretty sure I picked up covid there Saturday, August 15th, watching the UFC fight. It's the only crowded place I went where people were and maskless. I'm pretty militant about wearing my mask. But in the heat of the moment of being angry with the situation, I stormed across the bar to complain, not realizing I hadn't put my mask on. Next thing you know, I was at home all week with a 102.9 fever, loss of taste, a cough and plenty of other Rona symptoms. ...

This place is absolutely horrible due to the bouncer and management. After being there and minding my own business the bouncer decided to just stare me down the whole time while I was chatting with friends. Shortly after I am thrown out for no reason I wasnt intoxicated nor had my friends done anything. In fact there were drunk patreons falling over playing darts he allowed too stay right next too us. He only threw me out becuase I was the only black in the bar and he has some personal issue with that. He couldnt even tell me a valid reason to have me leave nor did he try. This place is rude and racist only interested in profit and then throwing you out becuase your shade of skin is wrong. Go if you wish but dont expect good treatment unless you are white then you are allowed to stay by the...
