I love Indian food, and I love Palette Indian Kitchen.

The other day we received a coupon in the mail for this local Indian eatery. So we waited for the right moment and went over to celebrate my daughter's birthday and her new driver's permit. (I was more keen on the first than the later, lol.)

The Palette offers a lunch buffet and since Indian food is such a favorite of mine I chose the buffet, and so did my daughter.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated and bright. I could tell that the owners had wonderful taste, style and an understanding of the importance of light. (Too often I am disappointed at how dark a place is. I believe it detracts from the visual cues a well prepared plate presents.)

The gentle sounds of conversation and laughter from four other tables, made me feel comfortable as my daughter and I made our way to the buffet that offered a wide selection of dishes. I am not ashamed to say that I had a spoonful of every dish, with the exception of the rice pudding (I've never been a fan lol) but my daughter helped herself to two servings of it. :)

The food was spot on. Fresh, Hot, and layers upon layers of flavor. I went back for more and my daughter beat me by going back a third time.

The owners were present but didn't introduce themselves until the end of the meal when they asked if everything was to our liking. I complained that I would have liked to have more room in my stomach for more. We laughed and I told them that the food was excellent. When they asked why we selected their establishment my wife explained that we were celebrating my daughter's birthday and 2 minutes later they surprised us with a slice of chocolate cake with well wishes written on the plate in chocolate syrup.

Later, as we were driving away my wife reminded me of a conversation I had had with some friends where we had asked for their recommendations were for good authentic Indian food. We searched out notes and sure enough Palette was one of the top three for all of Houston.

Oh boy...I can't wait to go back. A...

We came in with a party of six after hearing great things about this place from neighbors, and I’ve got to say—it lived up to the hype. The food was absolutely top-notch across the board. My dad and I ordered a couple of extra-spicy dishes (and we meant spicy), and they delivered—flavorful, intense, and unapologetically hot. Meanwhile, my wife and mom went with medium spice levels and loved their meals too. Even my two kids devoured their food and loved it.

We started with some hummus, which was excellent, and I tried two different Indian beers. One of them was fantastic—reminded me of a Modelo with an interesting twist—but the other had an odd sweetness I wouldn’t go for again. Unfortunately, I can’t remember which was which, so… trial and error if you’re feeling adventurous.

This was a dinner visit, so no buffet—just full table service. Now, here’s the one hiccup: we were seated around the corner from the main dining area, and while the staff were all friendly and hospitable, it was like we were in a different building. I had to get up, walk around the corner, and then stand there waiting—literally just waiting—for someone to come out of the back before I could even flag them down. That happened three times. It wasn’t just being out of sight; it was being completely out of range. Very odd, and definitely not something I imagine happens in the main dining room.

Bottom line: phenomenal food, great addition to the neighborhood, and we’ll definitely be back. Hopefully with a table in...

We have visited this place multiple times and we have never gotten disappointed. Being vegetarian it is very tough to find more options along with tasty food. You will find both here.

Some of their vegan curries are also amazing which is made in coconut curry. Their species level also really amazed me every time as if you love really Indian spicy they will make sure it's really hot spicy and I loved it. Also please make sure you don't order all dishes spicy 🔥 if you love spicy food to make sure you can also enjoy the food.

The owner is super nice as well as the staff, they always give you a warm welcome and make sure you enjoy the food once it is on your table.

Now if you are not Indian and want to try real Indian food go for it.

My fav dish here is Gobi Manchurian considering I love indo Chinese but their other dishes are as good as this.

I definitely recommend this place to someone who really loves tasty food.

Only one thing to consider here is if you are like me make sure you have an extra layer to wear with you as sometimes the place gets very cold.

UPDATE: We recently placed an order for catering (Gobi Manchurian, mix pakora, paneer tika masala, mix veg chetinand, naan, biriyani) and as expected all items were awesome in taste as well as the texture was also so good. They also provided chutney and raita with biriyani. People who attended the party also liked the taste of the food.

They can help you order a full, 3/4th or full tray for the catering based on the...

Let me start off, I don't like spicy. I know, you are like -why did you go to an Indian place? Well, my daughter picked‐ for her birthday. Nice location, lots of parking (mini mall area), clean, nice atmosphere, owner was available & nice & offered suggestions. So started with Gobi Manchurian - vegetarian appetizer. Cauliflower tossed w/indo-chinese sauce. Tasted just like general tso's chicken! Ordered some naan -plain naan which was so fresh & thick & the Peshwari naan which is sweet (my guess strawberry sauce inside) it was AWESOME ! My daughter can't eat meat since an illness. She ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala (indian cheese cubes cooked in a thick gravy). I ordered Boti Lamb Kabob came out like fajitas would, on a hot plate with onions & pulav rice. To me it was spicy! The owner brought me some Raita (indian yogurt) to help with the spiciness. It helped. My husband ordered chicken seekh kabob wrap came with chips he also ordered peas pulao rice. He enjoyed it! My daughter ordered a drink they have that was like a smoothie. Can't remember the name. They are a coke place YEAH! I ordered coke zero & husband got tea. Total was about $76. Not bad, considering we ordered a lot! Just f.y.i they close everyday at 2:30 p.m. thru 4:30 to get ready for dinner. Menu is available online & gives explanations of the dishes. We will be going back to try other items. Gave 4 stars since was our 1st time here.
