Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Texas

Update: as of 2024 this place is no longer an option for me or my family. They are both slow and rude. I made a simple order, of 1 combo and 1 sandwich. The combo of tenders was inedible. The breading on the outside was soaking wet. The inside was not cooked. Completely unacceptable.

Another thing that is really, really bothering me is one particular staff member. This person was hanging outside of the drive thru window staring at my car. as I pulled closer they disappeared and another person took my card and swiped it. After about two minutes, the first person, who had the appearance of a young boy, came back to the window, and said "pull up behind the car in front of you" to wait for my food. Then leaned out the drive thru window, their head basically in my car, and STARED at my teenaged daughter. It was creepy, and unacceptable. She begged me not to say anything.

After waiting behind the car in front for 10 minutes, this same person yelled at me through the window to get my attention, then pointed in the direction of wal mart. I didn't understand what they were saying, or who they were talking to, but when I turned around and made eye contact, they didn't say anything. I was unsure what they wanted, or even if they were talking to me at all, so I turned back facing forward. Then, again, they yelled at me two or three times, I turn around, and they are pointing at wal mart AGAIN. USE. YOUR. WORDS. I was done being disrespected, and I refused to move anywhere.

When the food finally came, it was brought to me by a lady I hadn't seen yet, who did not bring a drink or any of the dipping sauces I paid for. When I told her, she asked me to go through the drive thru again so they could hand it to me. I refused.

I am beyond enraged. I will never go back to this place because it is completely inedible, and I never want to see that creep ever again.

10-5-25 update: Went back to grab 8 piece family dinner. Maybe last time long wait was just bad luck. Ordered at drive thru and was asked to move forward to wait. 15 minutes passed and I went inside to see why is order taking so long. There were a bunch of workers standing in back just waiting for chicken to cook. They said it will take another 10 minutes until chicken is cooked. I asked them why they didn't inform their customers ahead if there are longer wait but they said its their food management system and how they run the business here. Never have I been so angry at a restaurant before. The owner and management here are very disrespectful at this location by not informing customers about longer wait time. This is literally the 2nd time it has happened to me at it with this location and this time will be reported to Popeyes corporate. This owner needs to face some sort of repercussions for treating customers like this. I got a refund and left. Worst location ever. Don't go here.

A few months ago:

Don't order online or use their app here at this location. They prioritize drive thru first. I ordered online around 6pm today assuming that it will be faster, boy was I wrong. There were 5 cars at the drive thru so I head inside to pick up at the counter. I waited 28 mins to received the order while they prioritize drive thru orders. It does not take 28 mins for a 10 piece meal with 1 side of french fries. This location is ridiculous. Corporate is trying to promote customers using the app to will free up workers but prioritizing drive thru while making app users wait is just wrong. Chick fila, only a few feet way, is always packed to the teeth but they move their traffic within 5 to 10 mins. Something is seriously wrong with this location and the manager needs to be audit by corporate or reprimanded for serious...

I love the chicken when its fresh. However, we have eaten there 3 times in the last week or two. The drive thru service sucks big time. The guy on the speaker taking the orders is very unprofessional. Seems bored or inconvenienced by having to do his job. He cuts you off before you can finish saying what you want by saying "What else" So by the time I was able to complete my order of 4 meals I was beyond irritated. No patience with customers at all. The girl at the window on our last visit was more concerned about the conversation goin on inside than paying attention to us at the window. Very poor attention overall. Then it wasn't until the 3rd visit that the food was actually good. The last 2 visits the chicken was old and the chicken itself was all dried up around the edges of the Patty. If I were you I would check the food quality before driving home to find out you just paid almost 30 bucks on hard dried out/dehydrated chicken like we did both times...

Update....it's been awhile so thought maybe things changed. Nope. Missing food, old chicken, cold fries. I will drive somewhere else IF I ever decide to eat from Popeyes ever again. I'm really surprised this place is even open. Anyone who eats there is taking a HUGE RISK with...
