Ok, here's the good, bad and ugly- Spring Creek BBQ is, well, meh. The entire experience was a bit skitso, honestly. Service was really well done. I will give the staff kudos for that. Friendly and helpful people doing an unappreciated job. I feel a little bad that they are presiding over average fare. While there are a few stand out performances in the meat department, nothing was really that good. I mean, it wasn't bad, per say...just not necessarily good. Most of the culinary experience felt like it was, largely, phoned in. It was C+, really. Enough to be called bbq but not enough to get a scholarship. The pepper sausage had great flavor, but the texture was totally wrong. Sausage should be substantial in it's texture, not feel like fried mush. Please, take it out of the grinder sooner. The ham was tasty but obviously not inhouse cooked. It came off as one of those old school ham in a can deals. The turkey was, well, forgettable. The pulled pork was a stellar performer in the crowd. Not the best I've had, by any stretch, but definitely a standout in the crowd. Didn't have the ribs or brisket, this round but will in the future. On to the ugly: the sides. Seriously people, please, for the love of god, throw a little effort into the sides. Not everyone wants their meal to begin and end at the cutting board. Up that side game and you gain fans. Fantastic sides can save a meal. Which brings me to the good: that cobbler. Oh. Mah. Gawd! That is the best damn cobbler I've ever come across. That cobbler is the real MVP. It was as perfect as I think a cobbler can get. Perfect balance, firm yet supple fruit, perfect portions of spice and the bread was out of this world. Add the blue bell and it becomes one of the 7 deadly sins. Seriously, I'll go for just the cobbler. So, that's my take. Spring Creek has the soul of a great bbq spot but it's missing most of the bones and muscle that will...
Read moreUpdated from a 3-star 🌟 🌟 🌟 to a 2-star🌟 🌟 review. We went as part of the school's Spirit Night. Everything below is still accurate except that the mac & cheese was cold, and many meats were like leather and dry. Uggh!
I'm torn on this review, so I'm going in the middle with 3 stars. Some great, some bad.
The great: Who doesn't love fresh, hot-out-of-the-oven baked rolls? Probably one of the best reasons to visit Spring Creek BBQ. The turkey was delicious and moist, too. Not a lot of smokey flavor, but it was tasty. The mac and cheese seemed okay and popular, too.
The bad: Unfortunately, the rest of the BBQ. The ribs were awful! Super dry and hard to eat! They were a big disappointment and a waste of money! The brisket was only "okay" to me. We usually get much better brisket at most other BBQ restaurants we go to, even other big red/yellow chains. The sides (besides the mac & cheese) were... meh. Another big let-down is that they don't let you go back for "refills" on your sides (like they used to do before Covid-19 happened). I don't get this. It isn't like customers are handing them a dirty, used dish, and they are "refilling" a used dish. They would always use a clean dish. What is the difference then and now? I think it is just a lousy excuse to save some money and pinch pennies.
It is really too bad. We used to really like this place, but it has become a poor experience.
To top it off, our meal (2 adults and 3 kids - ages 9, 11, & 13) cost $88.60 + tip!!! That is WAY too much for mediocre food! This is with everyone drinking water, too (except for 1 soda). Just nuts. I guess we won't be...
Read moreCalled in ordered a slab of ribs from this location back on Sept 2, for pick up order, arrived at home and if you could’ve seen what was provided to me. Quality was terrible, ribs were dark, burnt and dried out. Contacted store manager and was enlightened that he couldn’t refund my money but that he would send a gift card of the same value of my purchase in the amount of 25.00. Mind you the ribs wasn’t consumable , so nothing was giving as I’m not looking for no hands out here it’s the principle that it was something that was not edible, so here it is Oct 2 a month later gift card still has not arrived when I was told that it should arrive within 1-2 weeks. Called today spoke with Brian the AGM and he had the audacity to be rude and wanted me to provide a receipt as he disrespectfully told me he can’t be giving away free food, like I was calling begging for a handout what a insult to me. When I asked for the customer relations contact number I was advised to look on the website to retrieve it. I don’t know how some people are placed in a mgt position but don’t have good communication skills. So I’m assuming I just donated 25.00 of my hard working money taking from the mouths of my family. Yes it’s only 25.00 but it’s my damn 25.00. I will contacting the better business bureau, since Covid the level of customer service had gone completely out the door! Word of advice: WITHOUT NO CUSTOMER THERE IS NO...
