Went to this place tonight to try out the Crawfish 🦞 because I kept hearing that it was really good and flavorful. Just for the record I am a Louisiana native and I know all about crawfish in flavor. This crawfish in particular had a weird citrus after taste that is liking to old orange juice that has sat in the sun and spoiled. I’m not sure what they use in the bowl to flavor the crawfish, but it did not help the flavor one so bit. when you suck the heads of these crawfishes you taste that weird after taste from that citrus flavor and it’s absolutely disgusting. I would rate the 🦞Crawfish🦞 really a two out of 10, but I’m gonna be nice because they didn’t actually overcook the crawfish it was just how they flavored it. I’m gonna be nice and give them a four out of 10 just on the fact that they did cook it Well it just the favor. in addition to this. I also ordered their alleged jumbo crabs, which were not jumbo crabs they were Louisiana number two crabs, blue crabs. The crabs flavor was good. It didn’t have that weird citrus flavor, but they cooked the crabs too long and they were stuck to the actual Shell. Buy at your own risk. I would say from being in Houston since December the best Crawfish 🦞 I have tasted has been at a place in Conroe or new Caney called overalls off of 1485. That’s going to be your best Bet to get some quality Crawfish 🦞 also, I forgot to add they forgot to put my potatoes in a bag. I ordered three potatoes. As a business owner myself I don't want to spend any more money at this establishment. I will say that me and my wife have given chance after chance on this place. It's always the same thing and it never changes. On this visit I arrived and waited in line for about 20 minutes just to get to the window and find out that they are out of potatoes. May I suggest a sign be on display for current patrons visiting so that they will know. I order my food and I wait, but there are people that came after me that recieved their food before me. This confused me as I ordered a 3lb regular crawfish. I would think that the regular crawfish would come out first given that you don't have to add much to it. I ordered a large Daquiri that came out first and there was absolutely no alcohol in it. But I was so exhausted that I didnt care at the time. I went up to the window an hr after I placed my order and asked about the status of my order. The young lady seemed to have walked out the door and back in, just to tell me "yea the kitchen is backed up" and closes the window on me. There was not empathy or apologies about my inconvenience. So I finally get my food and ITS COLD!!. I was pressed for time and could not make a big deal out of it. So I rush home to eat and there is no season on the regular 3lb and barely on the spicy 3lb. I’ve been coming here since they opened a few years back and not once has their crawfish disappointed and I think they have the best price around other crawfish areas but even if it was more expensive I would still come here because the crawfish here is the best! I almost don’t trust going to other places for crawfish lol. The owners are also very nice people and it seems like they genuinely care that people enjoy their crawfish. It’s also very telling that if people are unhappy for whatever reason they reach out and seek feedback. Saw someone here have multiple good experiences but had one bad experience and decided to post a review then. The owners still reached out to see how they could make it right. I would not reach out to someone like that, don’t need those kind of people coming around but again it’s telling of the genuine care the owners have. I love that this is locally owned so I will keep supporting! One small thing that I would say is that a few times I have been here they’re out of some kind of side. It’s really not a big deal and it’s only happened a few times so I don’t want to make it a big deal and I’m sure it can be hard to determine inventory at times but this would be the only minor area of improvement I would advise.
