The Human Bean — Restaurant in Texas

Update: (now that I have time to type out my review.)The Human Bean is better then Starbucks and another coffee shop I've been to. I love that they put a chocolate covered coffee bean on every drink. The staff is very friendly. The flavors and drinks are so delicious. They don't taste watered down like Starbucks or dunkins. I love the variety of drinks they serve. My personal faves are the "rootin tootin Italian soda" with cream on top it taste like the most crisp root beer ever- not exaggerating, my husband who is not a coffee drinker just tried the poolside energy drink and it is now his favorite drink, also I love the new Butter Pecan cold brew, and my own personal fave is one that I like to custome request is an iced vanilla chia latte topped with matcha cold foam. I go almost on a daily basis. And I have many more favorites.I do already have the app. 😁 I've put on every family member and visitor that comes over to my house on the human bean and I make it a point to stop on the way to my house. My mother-in-law even purchased a bad of the chocolate covered coffee beans she loved the experience. All around always a great experience. And great staff. My husband jokes saying it's my second home. And Everytime I go to run an errand like ups or heb I stop at the human bean my husband says oh I didn't know they sold the human bean at the...

This has become one of my favorite coffee shops. I stopped there the other day because I needed a coffee and they were the first coffee shop other than Starbucks that I saw. I'm sure glad that I stopped there because it was the best decision I made that day!

First of all, the gals who were working there were very friendly and welcoming (both times I've been there). When I pulled up to the window, everyone was smiling, chatty, and inviting. Next, the coffee was absolutely amazing. This is a significantly better coffee than most places (especially better than Starbucks), and it was smooth, hot, and a moderate to low acidity level. If you're not a coffee drinker, they do offer other energy infused beverages as well. I haven't tried those, but they did look refreshing in the pictures!

Since I live about an hour away from The Human Bean, I asked if they sold their beans so I could make it at home. Much to my delight, they offer their beans for sale in 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, and 3/4 lb bags. They'll even grind it for you if you prefer or you can have the beans whole. I drove away with a 20oz cup of smooth joe and a 1/4 lb bag of ground coffee. The prices were also more than reasonable.

10/10 do not recommend! The coffee literally scorched my tongue, and it wasn't even filled up. I paid $9.20 for a 16-oz drink and a kids' hot chocolate. The chocolate was cold. Thank God because I needed it when I took a sip of my coffee to have my tongue scorched!!! It hurts so bad it's not funny!

They left a ton of room in the cup, so I assume they forgot to top it off with milk. Ridiculous!!! Don't go here if you like your taste, buds!

Edit to add. I did call to warn them they are scorching people and not topping off the cups with milk to cool it a little.

I was told they leave the cup a less full so it wont spill on their clients.

I may have believed that lie if it weren't for the fact that I'd been to human bean in Midland, Texas, multiple times.

This never happened. Ever. Not even starbucks is that hot. It literally burned my tongue and teeth 😩

I won't go back and I refused their request to come back for a replacement. I just wanted them to know what they are doing. I didn't want to get my money back even though I should have. I won't drink their coffee again! There are enough coffee places I don't need their excuses. I just hope no one else gets hurt...
