I recently visited this boba tea cafe and restaurant in Cypress, Texas, and ordered a couple of Thai Milk Teas with Lychee Jelly and Mango Popping Boba. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations.
First, the taste of the milk tea was disappointing. It had a preservative-like aftertaste, which detracted from the overall flavor. The lychee jelly, which I had high hopes for, was quite rubbery and unappetizing. While the variety of add-ons like jelly and boba is appreciated, the quality did not meet the standards set by other local boba chains such as Sharetea, Tea Latte Bar, and Magic Cup.
One notable point of contention is the pricing. The cafe charges an extra $1.25 if you request no ice in your drink, which feels unreasonable and a bit of a cash grab. Additionally, each add-on, like the lychee jelly or mango popping boba, costs an extra $0.85.
On a positive note, the ambiance of the cafe is excellent. The decor is modern and inviting, providing a comfortable space to relax and enjoy your drink. It's clear that the owners have put effort into creating a pleasant atmosphere.
The cafe also offers a variety of other beverages, including fruit teas, smoothies, and slushes, as well as a selection of snacks like sandwiches, mozzarella cheese sticks, French fries, spring rolls, and Vietnamese rice rolls. However, based on my experience with the Thai Milk Tea, I'm hesitant to try their other offerings.
As part of their promotional offer, the cafe provides a loyalty card that gives you a free drink and a free add-on after seven purchases. While this is a nice gesture, the overall experience with the taste and quality leaves me unlikely to take advantage of this offer.
Overall, I would rate my experience at this cafe a 2 out of 5. The ambiance is fantastic, but the taste, quality, and pricing of the drinks need significant...
Read moreI just need to know what a normal size of a Vietnamese coffee is. Is it traditionally smaller than a Starbucks' grande, be cause that is what I received for almost $6. When did their drinks get so expensive. Bring back M.Boba and their team, because they had quality drinks at a reasonable price and dedicated customer service. Also are Vietnamese coffees warm, never had a warm Vietnamese coffee with boba before and it really did ruin the texture of the boba that it became a gooey mess at the bottom and clumped up. Needless to say I did not finish the drink and was very dissatisfied. The only positive is that the pineapple smoothie was great and the boba was great in that drink so I know the boba is good, it had to be the temperature of the other drink that made it unpleasant. Definitely dissatisfied and I won't be recommending this place anymore. It was a great place when it was M-Boba or LA Tea, drinks were awesome and the customer service was top tier. Hope this place changes...
Read moreI wanted to get a drink with no ice for the next morning. I asked if they could do no ice + don’t fill up to the top for the regular price. This is a practice common amongst Houston boba shops. Instead the person insisted they will still have to charge me the extra fee even without filling to the top. So then I asked could they just seal up the cup after I scoop out the ice. The response I got was: No that’s too complicated I don’t know how to do that. Honestly I’ve interacted with the owner before and they seemed nice. But this girl is clearly someone who has no business working in customer service.
Needless to say, I considered coming back to try the sandwich, but I won’t be coming back after this experience. There are so many boba shops in Cypress, I wouldn’t bother with Vtea unless you want your asian drink being made by a surly faced...
