Vaqueros Grill — Restaurant in Texas

I want to say thank you to Mr Humberto the owner for a unique and dining experience. Also wanted to say thank you to his daughter for being our waitress and being so attentive. This was our first time there and certainly will not be the last. I was very impressed to know that he had worked at another restaurant for 30 years in Tomball and was the head cook. After a lengthy dedication, he and his family elected to open their own restaurant and as a result and more over, he created the Vaquero Grill. The menu as you can see in the picture in American food as we like to say comfort food; home cooking. he makes everything from scratch. The chicken fried steak I ate was so tender that I literally was cutting it with my fork. It supersedes any other chicken fried steak I have had or they claimed to be the world‘s greatest. well I’m here to tell you it does not compare to Vaquero Grills chicken fried steak. The service was impeccable and we certainly look forward to going again. There are so many specials that he has throughout the week so call in advance and find out what they are. if you are a military veteran or a first responder we get discounts every day. go and pay Humberto a visit, I promise you you will not be disappointed. Would like to give a big shout out to Vaqueros grill on the amazing customer service and even more amazing food. My fiance and I heard the story of Humberto the owner and we wanted to show some support by stopping by and getting some dinner from them and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Humberto himself was there to great us and everyone else that came in around the time we stopped by. And him and his staff were very accommodating and served up some delicious food! We both shared the Philly steak fries which where delicious. And we both got a burger and we really want to highlights how delicious they where. Most places make fair burgers but few places make mouth watering burger like Vaqueros grill does. And I don't say this lightly. I challenge any burger food critiques to come check them out. The portions are big and food is very tasteful. We Appreciate the service from the Vaquero grill family and it has officially become one of our top places to eat in the area. I can happily say I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the surrounding Magnolia, Tomball, area and for those foodies out here in Houston I would also invite to come check out this wonderful family establishment. Heck be the first to make them go viral in social media post because there food is that good!! Can't wait to go back and try different menu items! Or maybe can't resist and just get another mouth watering burger!!...

I thought about not writing this review, as I did not want to affect this local business in a negative manner. But then I thought if I don’t give them honest feedback, they won’t have accurate information to make necessary adjustments. I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger with steak fries & my partner ordered the chicken fried steak. The food has potential but here’s my food critic advice: I’d suggest changing the vendor or brand of ground beef to a higher grade all beef patty (the patty I was served had a cookie cutter frozen fake meat look & taste to it) very underwhelming. But the rest of the burger was okay so yes, it has potential. The steak fries were cooked but seemed more cooked on the outside & still sorta raw on the inside. (Maybe allow them to thaw out more before frying). The chicken fried steak was tough and unseasoned. We liked that it wasn’t greasy but definitely had zero flavor. (I’d suggest seasoning either the steak and/or the batter for optimal flavor). I will say, the ranch dressing was really good, had a homemade taste to it, & the rolls were very tasty with good texture. The customer service was very pleasant, they checked up on me frequently, & greeted me with smiles. If I were to return, it would be because of that aspect of my experience.
