This is the kind of place that should put companies like Starbucks out of business. Super friendly service, attentive, and hands-down best coffee I've had in a long time. I've had both hot and iced coffee over a period of weeks.
I am a coffee lover, but had to stop drinking caffeinated years ago due to a heart condition. Finding decaf drinks with the same quality as caffeinated is incredibly difficult. NOT HERE!
The one hot coffee I had (summer and all) I remember being delicious. I've since switched to iced. I don't think my preferred drink is a menu option, but its... well, I crave it now.
I can still taste coffee; it doesn't taste like a mildly coffee-flavored smoothie, and not once have they messed up on the decaf part. Pretty important!
The added flavor and creamer isn't watered down, nor does it mask the natural flavor of coffee.
I've tried other coffee places in the south CL area. While others are still good, with great service and great coffee, WVC is top-notch. They've awakened the coffee-lover in me, which I thought was long gone.
In looking WVC up for this review, I see there is another one close to where I live now (for now I should say)... I really hope it is the same company so I don't have to wait so long to feed my cravings! (Bye bye paychecks... hellloooo Wicked Voodoo Coffee!!!)
Word from the wise: never get so big your quality becomes small... quality in service nor product. Next thing you know, you'll be Starbucks.... you'll be making money, but at a significant cost.
A comp to Dutch Bros: while I like Dutch Bros, their coffee is just... different. It's not folgers, but still tastes like mid-level quality coffee. The added flavors are either watered-down or MINIMALLY used to cut costs. Perhaps the owners/board are the type that "coffee shouldn't have added flavor". I swear their type of service is why they became so popular. Sorry, their coffee just isn't worth regular visits.
Wicked Voodoo surpasses Dutch Bros. I'm paying for and taking coffee with me, not a new bestie. And delicious coffee it is ......
Read moreI've been to this location several times over the last year or so. I have had mostly good experiences and a couple of excellent experiences. The people working are generally kind, and patient even during a rush. I have continually fumbled with the name of the drink i like yet most of them have handled that with grace and patience. They are always accommodating and extra nice to my teen who is always happy to go there for his french quarter hot chocolate! They offer different milk like products with no judgement in their tone and have always been willing to share their expertise on how well or not well those products immitate the texture and taste vs a whole milk product. My experiences across multiple wicked voodoo coffee shops have been the same in that regard, kind caring patient employees, almost like their actuallt humans interacting with other humans. :D Highly recomend them as a company and this location to anyone on the fence about the one at the lake vs ones in the city.
I have had one bad experience, I haven't seen that person there again since. They were curt, and appeared highly irritated by our existence. I feel that person was more suited to working a hobby lobby retail store than as a...
Read moreThis is by far my favorite place to get coffee at in the mornings. I pass atleast 3 different coffee shops on my way to this one, and add an extra 15 minutes onto my drive to work for the pleasure. I do this every single morning I work, and will continue to do so. There is no better coffee to be found in the area, in my opinion. They open quite early, which is helpful for those of us whose work days start early in the morning. Some local coffee spots are not consistent with their early morning hours, but here they are always open when they say they will be. I have left my wallet there once before, and returned later in the afternoon to find it safe and sound with them, none of my cash missing or cards tampered with. The staff is all very kind, honest, hardworking, and helpful. I quite like the high quality of the espresso here, and the creativity of the team when it comes to making unique drinks. My current favorite flavor combination they have introduced me to is blackberry carmel with oatmilk. If you have been on the fence about trying this place, rest assured you will not be disappointed if you try it out. The prices are fair, the staff are skilled and friendly, and the drinks are...
