Nick's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in The Colony

It has been about 10 years since I frequented this place. They used to have lunch specials back when and I would come here for lunch occasionally. They do not do Lunch Specials anymore. The place looks the same except that they have put TVs everywhere. I came to watch the third home game of the ACLS, so it suited my needs perfectly. Drinks are still good and fair priced. Nachos were good for bar food. Furniture is old and in bad shape, and the place smells like the bottom of an ash tray. Which is how it used to smell 10 years ago. That is fine if you smoke because you cannot smell it. But watch out if you do not smoke. If secondhand smoke smells kill you are going to lose a year or so. If the owner is not going to spend the money to update and upgrade the place, they should at least buy about four Commercial Air-ionizers. Most people do not like sitting with them turned on. But they could turn them on when they close and turn them off when they open. Within weeks the place would at least smell better. The day manager, her name was Gigi or Figi, was awesome and is one of the best things about this place. Whatever they pay her is not what she is worth. I will go back but it is not a place I would take a date or my wife because I smelled like a ashtray getting in my car. When I gross myself out it is bad. Let me start by saying I am leaving this review as a stage 4 cancer patient. When I entered I was approached by the manager, with me was my service dog which I have a legal documentation that he is a service dog The manager continued to harass me about my dog not being a service dog. I offered to present the documentation, which is totally illegal that he was giving me a hard time about it in the first place. When I explained to him that it was illegal to harass me as he has a true service dog he then continue to harass me that I can't dink. I advised that im a stage 4 cancer patient who does not drink. Finally my group sat down, do to me being visibly upset we decided to leave. As we were leaving The waitress were all apologizing and the manager was talking bad about us to the other employee as we walked by. I told him that we were leaving due to him embarrassing me and he stated GOOD. Not only am I leaving a complaint here, but what he has done is illegal with the ADA and I will be placing a formal complaint. When I advised him of that he told me good im 20 years in the restaurant business. So...

This use to be our favorite bar. We don't live close but we were willing to drive far to go there because though the atmosphere was not the best nor the smell, or service the food was good, the pool and darts were great and we loved the karaoke the best. We love DJ Vaughn. They have now did away with the karaoke and said that sales have gone up. Of course they did its become nothing but a black bar with drugs in and out of there and playing only rap music with no variety to cater to anyone else. There was maybe 6 white people in there last night not including the 5 of us. I am not a racist my step mother is black and I love here but she is respectful not ignorant and trashy like all the new customers up there. Ghetto as hell and ready to start fights with anyone. We wont be back and we will not recommend anyone there in fact by word of mouth ( which is the most powerful way of advertisement) I will tell people to stay away from there now.
