EDIT: Owner is correct, the product was not 'expired'. It was several months past the 'Best Before' date from Cadbury-- I have corrected appropriately as the response from the business is factually correct on expiration.
However, Jordan's Sweet Shoppe is perfectly fine selling products that the manufacturer has stated will no longer meet their intended standards of quality. The business admitted below they regularly sell products that are outside the 'Best Before' date. The quality standard utilized by this business is an employees taste test of chocolate freshness, not the established standards of the food industry.
Additionally, when I spoke to the employee no apology was made, no offer to make it correct. My only option was to drive 30 minutes round trip to get a business card to contact the owner-- the employee would not share the info over the phone.
Jordan's Sweet Shoppe needs to learn the power of saying "We are sorry you are disappointed, how can we make it right?"
Additionally, their quality standards leave something to be desired for me personally. If their position is the quality standard is the staffs personal taste and NOT the manufacturers 'Best Before' dates that should be clearly spelled out to customers so they can make an informed decision.
We will not be returning to this store and will share our experience with our local network.
Purchased 2 containers of cotton candy and a Wispa chocolate bar this afternoon. The Wispa bar “Best Before” date is 30 Nov 2022. Today is 19 Apr 2023. Why do you have products that expired 5 months ago on your shelves? When I reached out to the store there was no apology or empathy. No offer for refund. I was told to come in and get a business card for her boss. Such shame as we visit the candy shop after getting allergy shots for my daughter. Definitely be cautious of 'Best Before' dates if you shop at Jordan’s...
Read morePros Decent selection Very clean Wasn't cramped Cons Some candy was past its best by date Prices were high And the reason I'm writing this review, my card was charged twice, I called the shop and they said they didn't see it and that I could come up there and see, luckily it wasn't too late from the transaction date, so I called my bank and they immediately took action they informed me that I was in fact charged twice but since I had already called the shop and informed them of the problem, my bank immediately canceled one of the transactions. I understand that technology glitches at times, but the shop didn't try to help, they could've called whoever they use for credit/debit purchases, but was quick to dismiss it and tell me there wasn't a problem. (EDIT) As you can see from the owners reply, they were quick to dismiss it, and blaming it on the customer at that, not a very good look, its like that on every bad review too, seems like they can't really take anything negative, I wasn't hating, I was just giving a review, but now I would really advise anyone looking to shop here, to just go somewhere else, they aren't...
Read moreMy family and I went twice this past week; once at 740 and the doors were locked, lights turned off and a young girl sweeping the floors. A second time it was 745 and a young girl was locking the door behind a customer. We went for a third time tonight, Friday night, and the manager was there. The person ringing us up was her first week on the job and claimed she wasn’t sure of the hours. The manager chimed in and said they closed at 8 pm. I informed him of the early closing this week and he became very defensive and said every night he had sales past 8 pm. He was basically laughing at me. Just all very sad on the way the manager handled my concern. He says, “the door sticks.” So that’s why I couldn’t get in.. Also, he tells staff to clean the floors every 20 minutes... just all very unprofessional and very disappointing. We frequent this place often and disappointed it’s taken a turn...
