The Kebab Shop — Restaurant in The Woodlands

My wife and I finally checked out The Kebab Shop in Magnolia after meaning to stop by since it opened. We’re big fans of Mediterranean food, and this spot is only about 10 minutes from home, so it was an easy Sunday decision.

We ordered a little bit of everything — carved beef/lamb from the vertical rotisserie (which was cool to see), saffron rice, grilled kofta, falafels, and a couscous/cilantro mix. Everything was delicious except the cilantro dish — it ended up tasting more like a salad than a side, so we’d probably skip that next time.

What really stood out was the service. One of the cooks handed me my plate and asked, “Anything else I can get you?” I joked, “More food,” and without hesitation he smiled and brought me a piece of naan — totally unprompted. I was genuinely surprised and impressed.

We also had a chance to speak with the general manager (or regional trainer) visiting from California. I wish I caught his name, because he was incredibly welcoming. When he heard it was our first visit, he handed us two to-go containers of baklava as a thank-you. Completely unexpected and very appreciated.

We’re not the kind of people who expect freebies — we just appreciate good service and kindness. And that’s exactly what we got. The food was great (with just one miss), but the way we were treated sealed the deal. The Kebab Shop will definitely be a regular...

Interesting concept a mixture of chipotle meat five guys wannabe… food was mediocre was not amazed or delighted by the kebab that I had the rice was dipped in butter very little aromatic taste of the saffron, and it took almost 20 minutes to place an order with this guy and 20 further minutes to get the food out I think I made the request the time of ordering not just to have a plain rice and a little bit of a cabbage garnish (I must admit at that stage. I was kind of annoyed and walked up to a manager, asking if this was normal his response was yes it was normal while on the menu it has it as a supplement that you can choose, and I also request the salads and the tomato but that was missing completely. It’s another franchise with little substance when I go in there again...

Got a basic greens bowl with chicken, mixed veg, a fountain soda & husband got a mixed shawarma plate with rice & fountain soda. $41 plus tax. Too expensive for what it is. The food is very basic & is much less flavorful than what we serve at home & can buy elsewhere. The meats were juicy but nothing else seems to have much flavor. The place is basic chain restaurant vibe with uncomfortable metal chairs on polished cement floor with overly loud crappy music drowning out most of our attempts at conversation along with the unpleasant & unfriendly looking woman employee needing to suddenly straighten already neat chairs all around us while we were trying to talk & eat. I prefer the term basic but the current term of favor seems to be Mid and this place is...
