Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Thomaston

All around bad experience. Food was average at best and the service was atrocious. I have never had an experience here better than "acceptable" and typically have bad experiences. My girlfriend and I were the only people there ordering food while a few other people watched the football game. We stood waiting to be seated for a good few minutes, and then we were not taken to our seat but flagged down to come over to one. The wait for our food was ridiculous. The server was unattentive, and mediocre. She said she would bring me another drink but kept forgetting. She never smiled or even asked how our food was. She had countless opportunities to make the experience decent and she chose not too. After all that, when I ask for the bill, she goes to get it and then stands there (holding my bill) chatting with a friend of hers. When I finally get the bill I ask her to make change for some cash and she didn't even bring me all the change back! A horrible experience. It's sad to see business go out if business in the region, but if this Applebee's were to go out of business I wouldn't miss it one bit. This has to be the hostile Applebees chain I have ever been to, from the moment I walked in , I was asked to bring my ID card out. Initially I laughed it off and asked how old they assumed I looked like - she claims 28 years old. I asked if I looked 28 why would I still be asked to show an ID. I’m almost twice the age she assumed. I ordered my food and the onions were charcoaled burnt and I called the attention of the waiter . She proceeded to call the manager and while she came by, I was trying to cough the bitter piece of meat I chewed and the manager began yelling at me that I was being disrespectful and sticking out my tongue towards her. I tried to explain that the food was bitter from it being burnt. She show no sign of concern and asked what my problem is. I’ve frequented this restaurant for many years as there isn’t too many late night dinner options in the area. The last several times I’ve gone my food has been wrong, cold and always takes forever. The last two times we have gone in there the manager completely disregarded us and made no attempt to make things right. All of the staff who’s been there a while knows I’ve spent thousands of dollars in this place. Brought my sister and boyfriend with me last week waited over an hour for our food before just asking to pay for our drinks (drinks we didn’t even drink) and leave, and still got charged full price when we didn’t even get our food. Then we had carside and the food is wrong like always and has to be remade.. then it comes out wrong again. Not even an apology... I’m done with this place.
