This place can be very busy at times, and a lot of other local people really like it. Unfortunately, I'm not necessarily one of them.
The food is okay to me--personal opinion. I've had better, I've had worse. I know a lot of friends and relatives that swear by the pizza here, and are regular customers. I know a few that visit on a weekly basis.
The restaurant is kept very clean, and there are tables and booths available inside for seating. There are a limited number of tables and chairs available outside in a patio area in front of the restaurant. Great views of the Upson County courthouse here, as well as the various shops and the Ritz Theatre located on the courthouse square.
Parking is free, and can be found around the square. Parallel parking in front of the restaurant and along curbside, normal 'angled' parking around the center of the square.
I've visited this restaurant four or five times over the past couple of years. My main complaint is horribly slow service, hence the very limited number of visits. Last visit was a few weeks ago. The waitstaff was decent this time, but the cook staff were more interested in chatting with people in the bar area than preparing orders. I see no reason to wait almost an hour for a simple sandwich or pizza, unless there are customers outside waiting to be seated. This was nowhere near the case during my visit on...
Read moreI wish that I was able to give this restaurant no stars. The owner of this establishment made a mother of a special needs child and the child feel so uncomfortable that she picked her up and left prior to receiving their meal. The owner was rude and showed no compassion whatsoever! The mother carried her daughter in (the child uses a walker) with the flip flops in her bag and before she could sit the owner approached the mother and said I hope you have her shoes. The owner actually sent the waitress to the table to ask the mother to keep the child's flip flops on which kept falling off at the table. She actually waited until the mother walked outside to calm down from the awful treatment being received, to go to the table and speak with the friend (not the mother) in front of the child. The issue.........the child was unable to keep flip flops on her dangling feet. Not only were they approached when walking in they were stared at the entire time including when the mother had to carry the child to the restroom. Kuddos to the mother for keeping her cool I'm not sure I would have had her strength. My children, when little, were unable to keep flip flops on when sitting and this has never been an issue for us at any restaurant. Shame...
Read moreI decided to give slices pizza another try after two years because the previous visits, the pizza and calzones were doughy. The calzones were basically doughy with cheese and the pizza was nothing but doughy and green olives. Tonight I was shocked. We ordered two calzones (Be prepared to take out a second mortgage on your home in order to afford them) but they were really really good. They weren’t doughy like last time. They seem to have stepped up their game and hired a better cook. Thank God. The waitresses are still unbelievably snotty and rude though so you’ve stuck to that I see. Is that a job requirement? Just curious. I know that the owner is an exactly very friendly himself. Anyway, again I was actually shocked that the food was really good. I only gave this place three stars because the girls at the counter were snotty and rude. If they would’ve been halfway nice, I would’ve given the place five stars. Remember, the customers not only support your business but by visiting pay your...
