The food was good, but the service was greatly lacking. On 05/04/2022 myself and four friends decided to tryout El Jalisco in Thomasville. Have enjoyed the one in Tallahassee for years. Our waitress had a very difficult time understanding what we were trying to order. Each time one of our party stated our choice, the waitress would repeat back something different. When one asked for a glass of chardonnay, the waitress asked if she wanted a shot, twice. Then she asked the person to write what she wanted on her order pad.
After she left, we joked about what dishes we would actually receive. 3 of the 4 orders were wrong. Another employee whom seemed to be a manager stepped in and asked what we actually ordered and put the order in along with an additional "to go" meal. The corrected orders were brought out very quickly, which was nice. The to go order was also brought out about 30 mins later, and it was wrong, but we did not have the time to try and get it corrected.
The waitress eventually came with our checks, which were all mixed up and wrong... wrong drinks on orders...there was only 1 drink per person, so not a lot to get mixed up. Some of the food was wrong. She rewrote all of our orders on her order pad as we explained what we actually had. We waited an additional 30 mins for the bills, which never came.
We finally gave up and went to the front desk to pay so we could leave. The orders in their system were still mixed up, so in the 30 mins we waited the waitress still had not corrected it. We spent another 20 mins at the register explaining what we had, while they corrected the bills in the system. There were soft drinks on the bills we had not ordered and the food was wrong too.
We were very low-key and did not make a big deal about all of the confusion. We don't blame the waitress at all. This is a management problem. This woman should have never been put in the position to wait tables. Her English was almost non-existent and she was struggling. The entire time we were there she checked on our table one time. Management set her up to fail. She needs a job that doesn't require interaction with customers until her English skills improve so she is not struggling and embarrassed.
We will eventually go back and try again, but this restaurant has a lot of work to do before they are up to the standards of the one in Tallahassee.

Read moreThere's a Lot I could say about this restaurant ,but none of it good .My son was trained there for 3 days before the restaurant opened to the public .the first thing he was told was that he had to learn EVERYTHING on the menu in Spanish and know how to pronounce it fluently .Well ,I can't speak in Spanish ..period ,but my son stayed up most of the night those 3 days trying to learn that menu in Spanish .On Thursday they had a " Family and friends night " only . Of course all the employees were nervous already THEN when the servers took the orders to the kitchen to be prepared they said nothing about not having what was needed to fill the order ,so when the servers go back to pick up the orders to serve the customer they are told " that's no longer on the menu " or "we don't have everything to make the food ordered " What kind of business is that ? Then on Friday night Everything was wrong .computers ,registers Not working .The food orders were all wrong .the customers complained because they didn't get what they ordered .The cook was yelling at all the servers saying it was their fault and they didn't know what they were doing .a lot of servers quit that night. Then when my son and another server go back the next day they get the silent treatment ,but the manager was talking Spanish to another person that spoke Spanish also ,finally they tell my son and the other server they have 5 people coming from Tallahassee to take their places and the other employees that walked out because of the way they were treated .Well ,how convenient .Everybody that wasn't of their race was pushed out .I Know theres great Mexican restaurants in Thomasville that hire all races without discrimination ,but these people at Eljalisco ,are not anything like most restaurants ..Let's Just say,When they lose what business they are getting and shut down ,I won't lose one bit of sleep over it .Karma Will bite them...
Read moreThe waiter was terrible. First time there and I ordered an alcoholic drink, but it was tooo sweet. I asked if I could change my drink to a sweet tea but changed my mind and ordered a coke instead I told him twice a coke (pepsi). Not to my surprise when he came back it was tea. I had to wait 15 minutes until he came back to let him know that I wanted Pepsi I also ordered a cheese dip and it had jalapeños in it and I don't do jalapeños. He didn't even say if I wanted jalapeños in it or not. Then I was looking at the menu and decided to order a chicken and rice plate. I thought they would have cut the chicken up and served it like that but no it was a whole breast that wasn't cut up. After eating I had to wait 20 minutes and still no waiter. I had to run down a female waitress to get a to-go box, drink, and my ticket. She brought me everything but the ticket. After another 15 minutes, I finally got my receipt to pay for the food but it took him another 20 minutes before he came to my table to get my payment. (I was fixing to walk out without paying) because I was tired of waiting on him to give him my cc to pay for my dinner. Let me remind u that I had a 3-hour drive to get home. I didn't want to continue waiting on this sorry waiter. It seems like talking to ur Co-worker is more important than waiting on ur customers. I will NEVER go back to that restaurant in Thomasville, Ga again when I have a doctor's...
