Sakura Japanese Express — Restaurant in Thomasville

Food is excellent, however they didn't pay attention to me on the phone and I ordered 2 of the exact same items. When I went to pick up my Togo order, I had to wait for the second one to cook so I munched on the first order that was ready while I waited. I sat in the 1st seat 1st table on the left as your leaving the cash register. While I was thoroughly enjoying my meal a couple drips from the ceiling bounced right into my food. I immediately stopped eating because this made me nautious, and went straight up front to alert them of the leak in roof and that it had bounced into my plate. The man and woman working looked at me like I was crazy, and I wasn't asking for money back or another order remade, I just wanted them to be alerted to the problem so it didn't happen to anyone else. Needless to say, their customer service skills need some practice. They looked annoyed I had even told them about it and by the looks of the ceiling in that area, it has had a leak for a long time. My family and I recently moved to Thomasville and were introduced to Sakura by some of our friends. I grew up in Colorado Springs and my wife is from Houston and we have both always been a little skeptical when it comes to small town Asian cuisine, but no more. Sakura has incredible food (especially their hibachi menu) and the service is always excellent, prompt, and backed with true respect for the customer. We usually order take out, but we have also dined in quite a few times and they are incredibly family friendly and very compassionate and understanding of families with young children and some of the issues that can arise during meal times. We recently had a week where we wound up eating here three times in the course of 7 days and we could have easily gone back again because we simply never get sick of great food. After ordering I quickly regretted even stepping foot into this restaurant! There were gnats frozen in the ice. 3 cups later then I decided that I would forgo the ice and just grab a cup of tea, well the tea had sat out so long it was foul/soured. Needless to say at this point I was worried a the food coming out of the kitchen. I had ordered a sushi roll kinda pricey but I was optimistic, hummmm 4 thinly sliced rolls were presented to me on a tea saucer. I sitting there looking and thinking $14 for this??! It was absolutely horrible! It was so bad my cat wouldn’t even touch it. SMH

I Will NEVER RETURN OR SUGGEST THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!
