5/20/23 about 11:40 am, After leaving A graduation, me and my 25 family members reach this restaurant and of course all of us are black people .What we did not realize we was walking into A all white restaurant that was really really prejudice.. how ever they had one black young lady working there and all the other employees where white. She put us on the waitlist to be seated. She advised us it would be A hour wait time. Which we was willing to wait. A few minutes into our wait. There were some outside tables no one was sitting at. There wasnât anyone waiting to be seated either but me and my 25 family members. A few seats inside that was taken, but the complete outside was empty witch had lots of seat available. So the young black girl came outside and two white coworkers started arranging tables, putting them together making accommodations for us, but I donât know where this redneck tall white headed tall female comes from the back which we all believes to be the owner of the restaurant. Very loud, very rude very disrespectful and everything about her persona and her disposition her facial expression read nothing but prejudice, she talk to us as if we were second graders she immediately stopped her employees and told them to stop Putting the tables together she was not going to accommodate us ,thereâs no way she can accommodate 25 people and she did not want those tables push together to make it work. I have never, in my entire life been so humiliated and been in A atmosphere in my complete life where I am hurt and discussed all at the same time . I could only imagine what Black people felt back in those days and now we are in 2023 and theres people thatâs still with nasty /slavery, and disrespectful ways toward blacks. She treated us as if we was a bunch of slaves begging to eat, and she just was going to keep refusing to serve us.This restaurant I would advise all Black people to not ever step foot in this restaurant .Iâm asking All our Black people, and the one black young lady that was working there quit to not step foot in there again. Donât stoop to there level and work for people like that .She was so disrespectful I wouldnât want my Dog to eat in her restaurant at this point. Georgia is still prejudice and she proved that point and nothing has changed . The only difference is they want to spend Black people money in their face . Im so embarrassed as well, she belittled her employees as if they didnât know what they was doing or why they was doing it. It was beneath her and the restaurant rules and regulations to accommodate Black people. I would never spend a penny in that restaurant and Iâm begging all Black people whoever wants to go there , avoid that restaurant please they are more over-the-top prejudice than I have ever seen in years. We are all so frustrated disgusting to know that in 2023 that people can still look at you and hate you based on the color of your skin, she talked and looked at us as if she could hang us right from a tree burn us shoot us and spit on us and turn around and walk away and feel nothing , I am so discussed with her restaurant .Black People donât spend your money there.Let her go out of...
Read moreWe are out of town visitors and this is our first time visiting Thomasville. We looked up this restaurant on Google Maps and based on the reviews, decided to check it out.
As people of color, from the moment we walked through the gate, we felt that we were not welcome. When we walked in, the young lady we encountered asked us âHow can I help you?â Not âHow many to be seated?â But almost as if to say âWhat are you doing here?â When we told her âtable for 2â she asked the gentleman walking past âDo you want me to seat them on this side or the other side?â He ignored her, did not respond and continued out the door to the customers who were seated in the outside dining area. Let me just note at this point that we were the only people of color in the entire restaurant. After his lack of response, she seemed to be a little embarrassed and she said âWell then, Iâll just seat yâall over here.â
After she seated us, we could feel the attention on us from the other patrons and the restaurant staff and it was clear to us that they were all wondering why we were there. Then after several minutes, the same gentleman who had ignored the question of where to seat us, came to our table and asked how we were doing, we had seen and felt enough to know that we had serious concerns about the service we would receive so we decided that this was not the place we wanted to patronize. We informed him that we had changed our minds and we left.
We are not from Thomasville but people of color please be advised that this is not a place where your patronage is welcomed. This is truly...
Read moreDid not enjoy my visit here overall. I was disappointed because I'd been wanting to eat here for the longest. I came out of town and perhaps just caught it on a bad day. They were very busy and the table we were seated at was very wet. Hopefully from cleaning it, but it seriously looked like the towel wasn't squeezed out. There were puddles on the table. The table was also very wobbly. Any wrong movement could have been disastrous. I noticed they placed paper underneath one of the legs for stabilization, but it wasn't thick enough. The service we received when entering, being seated, and during our visit was wonderful. The staff is very friendly. One thing I was very excited about ordering were the fried green tomatoes. When my order came, there were just 4 slices of tomatoes on that plate on top of a bed of lettuce. 4 tomatoes..... and for $9 or $10! They did not have any flavor whatsoever, but they were crunchy. The sauce they come with is what saved it, but for the price and 4 slices of tomatoes I'd expect something phenomenal that wouldn't even need sauce. The Shrimp and Grits were pretty good. My friend did not enjoy her Red Beans & Rice Entree, and that's one of her favorite foods. She was excited to try it, but she couldn't even finish it. I was bummed she didn't get to enjoy her meal at all, as this was a place I was excited for both of us to try, and the main reason for our travel. But it may have just been an off day. I wish I could have experienced the...
