Shoto's Japanese Seafood and Steak House — Restaurant in Thomasville

Initial customer service was a 5 however I am very disappointed in the customer service I received after I did a take out order. It's very rare for me to give a not-so-good reviews. I did enjoy talking to the grandmother. She was the highlight of my day. I ordered 2 hibachi chicken/steak. One with broccoli & one with mushrooms. I was asked about how I wanted the steak (medium well) & was asked hibachi or teriyaki. I know I was asked this bc I thought it was strange to be asked teriyaki when I originally said hibachi. When I got home I had 2 orders of teriyaki. I called the next day and was asked if I ate it. I said half of it. I was then told bc I ate it there was nothing they could do. I received my food at closing & when I got home they were closed. I asked did they want me to bring back half of my meal today?? The lady who took my order got on the phone & states their customers know they serve teriyaki & only give hibachi if ask specifically. I'm not a regular customer & her & I agree to disagree that she never asked me about hibachi when I say she asked me teriyaki or hibachi. Their menu does not say their meals are all teriyaki and that you have to specify hibachi. Why should this be made into such a big deal? Just make it right, no need to have a discussion on who said what. If I knew I was wrong why would I bother to call about it to ask to make it right. For what I paid for just veggies/meat/rice was close to $30. I feel I should get what I asked for and wanted. I'm not big fan of teriyaki so I can't say that the meal was great. It was a lot of sauce, chicken is flat. Rice was good. I came close to closing time & thought I had ordered from this location, but I didn't (it was actually Sakura, which I did go to after leaving here and they gracefully let me take off my hibachi chicken/steak order & just get the orange chicken I ordered). FYI there are 2 Shotos. This location and one in Lexington.

Food is not really good sushi is rolled sloppy could do better expensive at that 😕 how about dust the vents above people's head covers with dust when you look up I'm surprised that the health inspector allows moter cycle and dusty walls and ceilings and nasty down in the cubicle where the cash register is you cannot help but see the clutter just think it's this is how the restaurant is imagine what their home is like I don't think I will be back the only thing missing from this place was a TV in a damn bed considering that it had everything else all cluttered up like a storage building no wonder it's dead half of the time in this place it's so dark and dreary in there honestly you need to put some paint on the walls honestly this reminds me of a restaurant off of that old TV show where chef Ramsay wuold go and remodel the restaurant they need it terribly bad shape my soup tasted it like it came out of a old dirty shoe come on Thomasville needs a decent restaurant please clean out your storage bin and brighten up your restaurant and make it welcoming the girl that wears glasses with the long black hair she is nice but she's not a good waitress I didn't even get a refill on my drink I had to ask for ato go cup in order to get a refill it's like the family lives on the left side of the restaurant kids motorcycle Grandma walking around it's...

So today is my second time ordering from here. I order to pickup for lunch. I always get the same thing at any Japanese restaurant- Hibachi Chicken with rice and mixed vegetables. So MY FIRST complaint or whatever is that they only offer sweet carrots with their lunch. I asked if I could get mixed vegetables (on the menu above hibachi chicken it said vegetables). The girl told me no even though vegetables was an option on the menu. Okay, so she said I could get another vegetable just not all of them. okay second time around, same girl.. she was nice to me both times, just seemed a little like she didn't know what she was doing. overall, the food was pretty good. I've had... better (Jade Dragon, thomasville & tokyo express, high point are a lot better) the white sauce was more orange colored than anything and had a different taste but it gave the chicken flavor. I mean I recommend it if it's a last resort lol but for the price you could even get a soup and better food at...
