Waffle House — Restaurant in Thomasville

I visited this location while on a road trip for work. Never have I stepped foot in a waffle house. If I had to have the best experience to bring me coming back to the brand, this location definitely exceeded my expectations. At first glance, I didn't think too much of the establishment. Very retro in style, yet the music was current and nice to listen to. Our server was Adrianna, a New Jersey woman with a lot of southern hospitality. Very nice, polite abs professional. She answered every question with clear and concise answers. She didn't rush the process. This mad ethe experience even more enjoyable.

Now, onto the food. Simply put, amazing. The waffle wasn't a traditional fluffy waffle that you'd fins in a diner. It was thinner than what I expected. However, it aided in the retainment of syrup. The waffle soaked up the syrup perfectly, giving every bit a consistent taste. The grits were perfect, not too runny or thick, just the right amount of butter. I ordered my usual that I will order when I go to a Waffle House and that is T-Bone with double hash browns with onions crispy. But before I received my meal I observed employees eating in front of guest, one employee stretching in her head never washed hands after doing any of the things that they shouldn’t have been doing. As we was walking in we noticed the store wasn’t clean, floors were very dirty. But coming from out of town on our way to Virginia we were hungry so we decided to stop here. Would have eating here but as we sit waiting on the food to be cooked that’s when we noticed all of the violations that was being done. Looked around for the health score it was no where to be seen. So we decided to leave. If the health department had walked in they probably would have shut it down. Someone needs to get this location together. Went down highway about 2 miles down the road at the one on archdale/high point and got great customer service no one doing anything wrong and food is delicious…. Eating as I type this...

Very disappointing and displeased! I was over charged for my meal but wasn't charged for my drinks (that I offered to pay for but the waitress didn't want to redo the ticket because she was ready to go home). I called back because my order was wrong and I was told that I could come back up there and pay for the drinks (that technically I paid for already by being overcharged) in order for them to fix my order. I also ordered a biscuit substituted on a bun and instead of doing that they took it upon themselves to turn it into a sandwich so they could charge me more for extra sausage that I didn't ask for. She was extremely rude on the phone and talked to me like I was an ignorant child. The food is always good but the service is horrible.
