Ivery’s has been a staple in my family for more than a decade. Not enough time or space to go into details about this place. One thing that stands out about Ivery’s is the food is CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS!!! If your looking for good down home cooking and your in Thomson, this is the place that will NOT disappoint. Food is served buffet style. You pay one price and you can eat as much as you can hold OR until the food runs out. I have known them to run out of certain dishes. It can get very crowded, especially during lunch time hours into the late afternoon. So if there is something on the menu you, you particularly enjoyed, don’t wait because it just might get are up. The cabbage is to die for. That’s my favorite. They serve fish on Friday’s. Today, they served catfish and mullet. Not a fan of mullet but everyone at my table and some surrounding table were expressing how good the mullet was and how well prepared it was too. I love that they have multiple bottles of condiments for the consumers convenience. If you like mustard on your mullet or hot sauce on your cabbage and fried chicken, no worries…there are plenty of bottles to go around. Speaking of the fried chicken…hot, crispy and juicy is all I can say. The only thing that was missing was the fried fatback. All I can say is, whatever you get on your plate, you cannot go wrong. Dining at Ivery’s is always a pleasant experience. The servers are very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is very family oriented and you definitely feel a sense of community when you eat here. One last thing…kudos...
Read moreI used to love this place. Came on Tuesdays for the BBQ chicken... They serve the buffet and you have to holler for them to hear you. The windows are all steamed up so you have to bend over to see the food.
We came at 12:15. They dished small ice cream scoop serving for the sides. The broc casserole had no visible broccoli. They only gave one piece of chicken I had to ask for a second. And they cut the chicken breasts in half and we received the bone half so almost no meat.
We were dealing with it until we went for a second trip... There were no meats on the bar. The macaroni and cheese was OUT FOR THE DAY! Peach cobbler OUT FOR THE DAY ...
They changed the BBQ sauce. Used to be tangy and now it tastes like a bottle of sweet BBQ... Too sweet.
I am so disappointed and will not be back. This place used to be my favorite place.

Read moreVery disappointed. This was my 1st time there. Staff very unfriendly except for cashier, the lady that was fixing my order was unfriendly and acted like I was a nuisance and didn't want to bother with me. My order was to go and when I got home I had small portions and did not get any bread or was not asked if I wanted any bread also was not asked if I would like something to drink. My total was $14 and some change, not worth it. 2 veggies (which is what I wanted) and 4 bbq chicken legs. I usually give places a 2nd chance but the welcoming I got not sure if ill go back. I hope they get the AC working soon. Very warm...
