It's a 4 to 4+. I'd absolutely say to hit it if you're looking for battered seafood and supreme chowder.

New England clam chowder was fantastic! Wouldn't have changed anything there. A 5.

We ordered the A and B and a side of oysters.

The fish, shrimp, scallops and oysters were all TOP notch. One could quibble over some seasoning details, using a beer batter and 'heaviness' of the batter but the reality is they were all great! Very little room to improve.

The fries or 'chips' had a lot of room to improve. Clearly tasted like some frozen fries bought in bulk. I'd give them a 2.

The cold slaw was ok. A 3 to a 4.

With some hand cut / made fries and some tweaks to the slaw I think this place would be a 5 and a hidden gem!

Other factors I don't take into ranking I'm a strictly good ranker:

TO Fish & Chips in Westlake Village is hands down one of my all-time favorites. They’ve been around for over 40 years, and I’ve been coming here since the early 1990s. The quality has never slipped—crispy, golden fish on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside, paired with fries that hit the spot every time. Their clam chowder is also fantastic—rich, creamy, and the perfect way to round out a meal.

I just get the fish and chips and clam chowder here, I know they have lots of other good things on the menu, the grilled salmon looks amazing but I just stick with the fish and chips. The coleslaw is terrific. The clam chowder is delicious. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, the staff is very friendly and calm. The entire kitchen is run with a calm energy, there's no loud sounds or banging or shouting, it's calm and relaxing and amazing. I really appreciate that. Unfortunately they just got rid of their reward Punch cards, and went to an electronic system, and devalued the rewards points by at least half. I won't deduct a star for that but...
