We have visited Bobby B's many times in the 13yrs that we have been coming to Martha's Vineyard. The food has been good, nothing overly exciting, but also nothing bad. This visit however; was awful! I thought that it was odd to show up at 7pm and be the only ones there, I should have followed that red flag and gone somewhere else. To start- my Mom ordered the chicken quesadilla that was advertised as just that on the board for 12.99. They then charged extra for chicken. It didn't come with salsa or lettuce or anything, just sour cream. We got ranch and paid extra for that (which is normal). She used her CC and left a tip as the girl on the counter said she would be bringing our food out, we thought on plates like a normal restaurant. I ordered the "Eggertown Burger". My bill seemed a bit high for what I ordered, so I went back in and asked for the receipt. There was a service charge which was the equivalent of 5%. I asked what it was and the girl at the counter said she didn't know and to ask the man sitting at one of the tables. He stated that his English was not good and he struggled having a conversation with me. From what I could understand, this was a tip for the restaurant. There was nothing posted anywhere regarding this service charge. I have worked in many restaurants and feel that this is a super shady practice. So you tip 5% and then they ask for another tip. Mind you, this really is more of a "to-go" restaurant. They bring your food, but that is all that they do. Again, working in the industry, I NEVER expect a tip on a to go order. I'm not doing anything to deserve one. Back to my burger....on the website said that it comes with their homemade green mayo.... It did not. I went back inside and she told me that it doesn't come on it and you have to ask for it and it costs extra. She ended up just giving it to me, I'm sure to get rid of me at this point. The food came out in to-go containers, which didn't seem odd at this point. Until the table next to us had a very different experience. Same girl helping them. Mind you, she never brought our food, someone else did. The vibe is definitely "to-go". The quesadillas at the table next to us had all the fixings and on actual plates (my guess is that they paid for all the extras, but who knows). So my experience is that we got hit a bunch of hidden fees....I got attitude and crap service... Then when asked about the fees, they seemed to want to continue to hide it...we were treated different than everyone else and the food was just "Ok" definitely not worth the price we spent. Read moreI came to Bobby’s B for the second time and unfortunately the service is terrible. One of the attendants, a short-haired, is extremely rude, with no kindness or professionalism at all. The food takes a long time to come out, and although it tastes very good, the service really ruins the experience.
Another huge issue is that there’s no bathroom available for customers. My 3-year-old son needed to use it urgently, and the only response we got was, “it’s not working, it’s not working.” I was very upset, because he’s just a child and obviously cannot hold it the same way an adult can.
On top of that, the staff don’t even bring the food to the table — customers have to go get it themselves — and yet they still expect us to pay tips for such poor service.
This restaurant really needs to improve its customer service, because the food alone is not enough to make people want...
Read moreI had a little mix-up with my order at restaurant, but honestly, the way they handled it made me love the place even more! I originally ordered one dish, but they accidentally brought me something else. When I pointed it out, the staff was super apologetic and quick to fix it. Not only did they bring me the correct dish right away, but they also let me keep the first one as a courtesy! I was really impressed with their customer service—they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. And to top it off, both dishes were delicious!
Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way a restaurant handles them says a lot. Bobby B’s truly cares about their customers, and that’s why I’ll definitely be coming back. Amazing food and even better...
