There's absolutely no shortage of good homemade ice cream shops on Cape Cod but when you're on Martha's Vineyard, the pickings dwindle a bit.
What you'll find here is a limited selection of typical flavors. There are about 15 flavors to choose from and while it's not bad ice cream, it's also nothing that stands out as you would expect from some of the reviews here. I had a group of 8 and we shared the "pig" or "oink" thing, that allowed us to try a dozen flavors. I picked the mocha chip thinking it would have two of my favorite flavors working in harmony. The sad reality is that there was no mocha flavor and the chocolate chips were scarce. None of the other flavors (mint, oreo cream, Snickers, M&M something something, etc) were memorable either.
So if the ice cream isn't great, then what else does this parlor have going for it? Nothing really. The staff wasn't rude but emotionless and not really talkative. It helped paint a dreary experience if it weren't for my group. I don't think I'd be coming...
