Been to this restaurant many times and each time we went home with happy face and happy stomach, and hopefully this review will attract more customers to try as it deserves more attention.
Once you get past the exterior (plenty of parking space btw), as soon as we walk in, we're being greeted by many unique giant BE@RBRICK. When I turn around towards the registers that's when it really catches my eyes - a wall of anime (One Piece, DBZ, etc.) figures/statues displayed beautifully, as I'm also a huge fan of One Piece and a collector myself. The interior setting is very open, bright, and cozy, unlike other steakhouse where it's dark and strong smell of grease.
The server was always attentive and very patient with our questions regarding the menu. We've tried varieties of foods on the menu and never once disappointed - my wife loves their sushi/sashimi (the Chef even customized a chirashi upon our request, and it was AMAZING!). As for me, I tried different sushi rolls each time and they're all distinguished and taste beyond delicious, so it's hard for me to pick just one as a favorite, you can never go wrong. Their combination lo mein is what stands out from others, first of all, there's no MSG, and the Chef is also from Taiwan, so the way it was cooked/prepared reminded us of home, you can't get this satisfaction anywhere else.
That's my personal honest review, I'm already craving the foods @ Tokyo as I'm writing this, so guess I will need to make another...
Read moreOn a regular day this is a 5 star restaurant, great food, great service, and great atmosphere. However, as this is one of son's favorite restaurants he wanted to come for his birthday that happens to be on Valentines Day. We made reservations ahead of time, but when we arrived they said that they did not have it. They told us they would still accommodate us & that it would be 10m. It was 35m before we were seated which was fine. It was another 51m before we were acknowledged again and asked what we wanted to drink. They decided to take the food order at the same time. It was 30m after that we asked about soup & salad that we still had not received & still had not received our drinks. 20m later were given waters. 2hrs after being seated we received our food. All of the food was cold or lukewarm. There were 3 servers, and a packed house. They were overwhelmed and frustrated, and you could tell that they were not prepared for the crowd that they had. They definitely needed more help to make things run smoothly. Again, we frequent this restaurant regularly and usually love it. My suggestion would be for them to get more workers or for patrons to find somewhere else to go on a holiday. Most definitely a disappointing birthday...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the restaurant we had reservations and they did seat us pretty quickly. After that, no one came to the table for at least 15 minutes. We weren't offered any water or anything else to drink while we were waiting. We had to go find a waitress. We ordered our food and our appetizers at the same time, when we finally got a waitress to serve us. The appetizer took forever to come. The food took even longer and there were virtually no other customers (maybe 3 other tables in the whole place). When the food came it was cool and we sent it back. The allegedly warming it and it came back lukewarm. It was, filet mignon and chicken, and the steak was supposed to be medium well. When it came out the steak was dry and definitely well done. The chicken was dry and tasteless. We called a manager because we didn't eat it much of it. She kept asking what we wanted to do. I said take the food we didn't eat off. At the register she took off 50% of a few items. I still ended up paying over $50 for food we didn't eat. We only got 1 glass of water through the whole meal. She gave us fried cheesecake to make it up to us....that was actually pretty good. We will...
