This experience was so unique in how terrible it is that I spent hours reading the Google reviews. What do I find out? The owner was the mayor of Tomah! A conspiracy abounds! I legit thought I was being pranked by a kitchen nightmares spin-off. I had to look up the owner and learn more. Who is the man who thought coleslaw should go on nachos? Who is brave enough to offer high end prices and put out frozen boxed food with insane flavor combinations nobody asked for? Who thought a driving instructor turned mayor should be the town chef? There are three things that should have given us red flags and the sense to leave 1. A ridiculously large menu you can’t do everything well and if you sell everything from a poke bowl to Mexican to Italian you cannot execute on 100’s of menu items well 2. An empty restaurant during lunch rush time 3. A newer build without any character I cannot explain to you how surprised I was when Mexican street corn nachos came out with brown dollops with a kernel or two of corn? No shredded cheese and questionably no cheese at all? The orange liquid on top could be cheese. I asked the server what the brown substance was and she said she had no idea and looked very embarrassed. Thankfully they took it away and removed it from my bill. The presentation was similar to nachos I have served after drinking for 8 hours in college and putting whatever I had in the fridge on some yellow corn tortilla chips. As a side note, the coleslaw was fluorescent green. I ordered a broasted chicken sandwich (because of course they offer full broasted chicken meals next to pizzas, pastas, steaks, lobster, Asian bowls, and egg rolls) The sweet potato fries looked like they ran off the Cisco truck and dropped themselves into the dirtiest fryer I have ever seen. The fries were inedible. It was toxic and I feared for what the state of my stomach was going to be in several hours. The chicken tasted of the same dirty taste like their grill hasn’t been cleaned since the mayoral election was lost. My poor server couldn’t bear to ask me how the food was when she saw the one bite out of the sandwich and the plate pushed to the end of the table. I fear she hit her quota of comped food for the day and couldn’t take yet another plate back to the kitchen. The French dip had the same “off” taste and I started to rack my brain as to what is happening back there. Could their freezer have broken and the food spoiled? But no, they really served those nachos without blinking an eye. Maybe they could taste like that for real? I saw a male going in and out of the kitchen. Could it have been our esteemed former mayor? If he knew about the returned appetizer he certainly didn’t come to inquire which may indicate that complaints are more of an every day fare. Our barely touched food sat on the table as I hastily drank another beer to cure my rumbling tummy. Our server asked if we wanted to go boxes and seemed unsurprised when we said no. She didn’t seem to dare ask how things were for fear we would give a real answer. Another unsuspecting family from out of town showed up and out of 200 available seating options they were seated next to us in the eerily empty dining room. We could hear their gasp when the nachos were dropped like a bomb on their table. I only wish I could have warned them… Soon they too left a table full of untouched food and quietly declined to go boxes. I felt so bad for our server that I didn’t complain again about the sandwich after the nacho fiasco. After my Google review investigation and in depth search of the political history of Tomah, WI, I realized this whole restaurant is a scam. Foolish out of towners stop by off the interstate for food and are too polite to complain. The owner charges 50 percent more than the food is worth to cover those who do complain. The servers get paid well because the guests feel so bad for them. Now Mr. Mayor can impress his citizens with his fancy restaurant. I can only guess political bribes are traded for 5 star reviews.

If I could give a 0 I would. To start off they do not have a drink menu at all! And asking a server what they have is a blank stair and an I don’t know. Something as simple to type up a wine list or beer list on Microsoft word would have been better then no knowledge. I ordered the $18 chicken Alfredo. They boasted house made Alfredo. But served it with CANNED chicken!! It still has the imprints of the can on it. The broccoli was frozen broccoli the chef felt no need to even season with salt with boxed pasta. Definitely not $18 worth of quality food. More like $10. Something equivalent to Fazoli’s. What topped it off was when I ordered a regular cosmo. This is a common drink for any bartender and I said “can I get a cosmo but with 3 olive vodka or anything similar instead of your house vodka?” I was served a “cosmo” with no lime BUT 3 olives on a stick instead. These are basics. The waitress was very sweet but she wa snot knowledgeable at all in her job and when she listed off the foods they do not have on their menu it was larger then what they did have. We will not be returning. I added pictures of the canned chicken imprints and my olives. 1 Olive was eaten. The “chef” should truly go back to being a short order cook at a diner instead of marketing food they clearly cannot cook.

When I heard there was a restaurant called “Murray’s on Main,” or MOM’s for short, I knew it was fate—how could I not dine at a place that feels like it’s got my name written all over it? Well, let me tell you, this place might just be the long-lost family I didn’t know I had. I ordered the Reuben, and let me say, it was a sandwich crafted with love—or at least a lot of meat. It was the perfect balance: not drowning in sauerkraut or Thousand Island dressing but just enough to keep things saucy (without needing an intervention). Each bite made me feel like the sandwich was saying, “You’re doing great, sweetie!” Then came the 7th Heaven dessert. Now, I don’t know who counted the heavens, but this dessert deserves at least 8 or 9. It was a chocolate lover’s dream: light, airy, and somehow not too sweet—like a cloud made of mousse and chocolate cake had descended onto my plate. The chocolate shavings on top were a gentle nudge reminding me that life is good and dessert is better. So, if you’re looking for a place with food as comforting as a mom’s hug and a name that makes you feel right at home, MOM’s is where it’s at. And if you’re a Murray like me, it might just feel like a family reunion—minus the awkward small talk and casserole.

First, the service and customer attention is amazing.  I cant remember the last time I was served so quickly, food came out promptly which I can only contribute to the team effort between the kitchen and staff. I would go back based on the service and staff alone.  Im an a** and forgot my waitresses name I wish i kept the receipt so I could tell you cause she killed it all night. She clearly had a great repport with the waitstaff because they had no issues helping bring out the food.  I ended up ordering the following and tried everything with the help from some friends: Back and blue burger, mushroom swiss, Cuban, fried pickles, wesconsin fries with beer cheese, lobster mac and cheese, steak tips, every desert on the menue, and a beer flight consisting of: hazy bear hug IPA, spotted cow, mango cart, and blackberry lemonade.  It is too much food to review on so i will only hit the highlights. Appetizers: The fried pickles were thinly sliced which made them crispier than any fried pickles  I have had.  They had a bite to them and were delicious.  The salad bar was clean well maintained and for the size it had a fare ammout of options. Main: Although the cuban was very good, I cant get past how crazy good the burgers tasted. They were cooked to perfection, juicy, thick, and medium rare. You can choose between a pretzel bun or brioche bun, I had both and it was woth it. I have never had a mushroom swiss burger like the one they serve here, it had a single 1/4 inch thick portobello mushroom cap that covered the entier burger AMAZING. Every beer was delicious and matched the description.  My fav was the BlackBerry lemonadenot too sweet, refreshing like a summery beer.  Spotted cow had a heavier hop flavor and on the bitter side wich I enjoy. I tried my friends "blond walks into a bar" beer which I would say was a close 2nd.  The mango cart was on the sweeter side definitely could tast the mango. The hazy reminded me of a blue moon, neither of the two would blow my mind, but still its beer sooo... Deserts: You could share the cakes just based on the size but you'd be better off just ordering your own.  The 7th heaven was wonderfully mild, light, and creamy dispite it looking overly rich and huge. Lemon cake was equally as light with a true lemon flavor and a smooth fluffy filling, also not overly sweet which is why they share the #1 spot.  The single tuxedo cheese cake eould be my 2nd choice. Its a small slice, dense, rich and closely resembled a dark chocolate truffle covered in white chocolate. The peanut butter moose was rich and reminded me of a chilled peanut butter cup only again lighter and fluffy. My only criticism is I only wish they...

Yesterday my son returned home from a 13 month deployment. He wanted his extended family to share a meal before we all went our separate ways to our own homes several hours away. He found Murray's on Main online and decided, due to their large selection of gluten free and gluten free optional food (his sister and grandmother have celiac disease) to try it out for an early dinner together. What a TREAT!! The service was excellent as well as the food! Our orders were all correct, despite there being 10 of us! Our server was friendly, polite, and attentive. She was knowledgeable about what to do for the two people who need to be gluten free. They were both SO excited to be able to find a restaurant to eat at with a dedicated gluten free fryer to have some 'real' French fries. They both ordered sandwiches and said the gluten free bread was the best they have had!! If that wasn't enough of a great dining experience, the owner came to our table and told us my son's meal would be on the house to express his gratitude for his service! After our thanks, he left to go tell the server. When he heard from the server what his dinner order was, he came back to say that it wasn't enough, and that he wanted to give him dessert as well!! We couldn't believe his kindness!! But he wasn't finished yet!! He ended up coming back out with little glasses of his brandy old fashioned milk shake for us to all try!!! It was SO light and delicious!! I live almost 2 1/2 hours away, but will DEFINITELY be back someday thanks to the WONDERFUL experience all around that my family and I had at Murray's on Main (MOM's)!! Thank you all again for everything you did to make our dinner celebration so special...
