Stopped in on the 18th for our usual hot white mocha--we've done this twice a month for years at the same Starbucks. We get hot coffee with stoppers in them. We shop at Walmart for approx. 20-30 minutes and by the time we're done--our coffee is ready to drink down. On this day, ordered our usual, shopped at Walmart, got into our car, took a sip of still warm-hot coffee and one tasted like hot water with cream and the other tasted like several different kinds of syrup/sauce in hot water with cream. We saw that Starbucks was still open so we went through the drive-thru to either get our money back or get something that resembled our regular order. We were met with an employee who was wondering what he could do for us. We stated our issue and he stated "you were here an hour ago." As if what we were complaining about had to do with the temperature of our coffee. It did not. We again explained that there didn't seem to be any white mocha flavor to it, that it tasted like watered down expresso or? We were informed by this employee that our "coffee had dissolved." That would definitely be a first LOL. Even when the cream melts into the white mocha and expresso--- the drink still tastes like something other than hot water with a bad after taste. I mean this is our regular order and has been for years. The employee was quite upset that we were requesting "what we paid for and not what we had received." We were nice about it, but $14.00 for two coffees is a lot of money and we should be able to be dissatisfied with coffee that tastes like water. Right? We were surprised to find this employee debating this with us. Within a few short minutes we got our drinks replaced, no smile, no nothing, just a rude employee shoving drinks in our face and slamming the window. What we received at 7:45 was exactly what we had received 30 minutes prior (hot water with a slight expresso after taste and no white mocha) only this time there was extra extra cream and the liquid was so hot that we were unable to drink it until 45 minutes had passed. Even the cup sleeve was hot. Was this really necessary? Disappointed and will not be returning to...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could. My 87 year old grandma, my mom, and myself stopped by this Caribou yesterday on an 8 hour road trip home from a funeral. Tired and needing coffee and a bathroom, we came to this Starbucks at 8:40pm. I understand that it closes at 9pm but naturally, if a store is not closed yet, I'm assuming I can still use their bathroom and be served. We pulled in and saw the baristas inside behind the counter. After we got out and walked up to the door, it was locked, and suddenly the baristas had disappeared. Nothing on the door or online said that the lobby closed early while the drive thru remained open. I was a manager at a chain coffee shop and that usually isn't how it works anyway. Even if that were the case, you would think they would come to the door when we knocked and apologize and explain the situation instead of hiding. Tired and desperate for a bathroom, my mom walked around to the drive thru window to see if she could grab someone's attention. To her disgust, the barista was crouched behind the counter, hiding from our view. Embarrassed, she came to the window and told my mom that they have to lock the doors while they count the money. 1. You do not have to do that as drawers get counted multiple times a day and no doors need to be locked, it just has to be done in the back room. 2. You are not allowed to lock the door to prevent customers from coming in until close time. It seems that these baristas were trying to get out of their shift as early as possible by preventing customers from being served. As a person with a degree in management, this is absolutely unacceptable and I really hope that these kids working last night, July 31st at 8:40pm get a training on customer service and proper closing protocol. I will never be stopping at this particular Starbucks ever again and it turns me off to the chain as a whole. We had to load my almost 90 year old grandma back into the car and go to a crummy gas station in order to use the restroom and get coffees. Beyond...
Read moreWe used the drive through to order a grande latte and steamer with whipped cream, and made it a point to tell them no foam because some barista's don't understand the purpose of foam is to create an elegant topper, not intended to be used as a filler for empty space.
When the woman at the drive-thru handed me my cup it felt incredibly light, like it was only half full, so I removed the the top in front of her, And pointed out there was an inadequate amount of coffee, for the size I ordered and instead of making it right she proceeded to argue with me that I specified no foam on the steamer only, as if it was completely acceptable to her, to give you a tall amount in a grande cup, with 3 inches of foam filling the empty space. Just for reference a Grande is supposed to be 16 oz, and a latte should have 2 shots of espresso with steamed milk. What I got was more like 6 oz of tan milk, not even 12 oz which is what's in tall.
If I wanted a tall I would have purchased a tall, but what I paid for was a Grande and what I got was half cup of ... "coffee."... I am not sure what to call it actually because they didn't add enough espresso so what I really had was a cup of coffee flavored milk.
At this point it was in everyone's best interest for me to just drive away and dump the foam on their parking lot and continue my 5 hour drive with 1 hour of sleep. Coming from Washington State I can assure you this is my worst Starbucks experience that I've encountered so far. In the future I will make it a point to never return to this swindling Starbucks...
