I've driven past this place a few times in the last few weeks, I live about 10 minutes away. I heard about this restaurant on Cypress Foodies, a FB group. My wife and I were in the mood for something different than our usual local restaurants. This is the best Columbian restaurant I've been to in the Cypress/Spring/Tomball area! The prices are great, the food quality and taste are phenomenal! The food was not greasy and not dried out like other Columbian restaurants around the city. We ordered the Bandeja Paisa (plate), Patacón Relleno (similar to a sanwhich) and from the bakery we ordered 1 Buñuelo & 1 Pandebono. The bakery goods were eaten before I could take pics, lol! This was enough food for 3 people and we were still not able to eat it all! The service was great and they do speak English and Spanish! My wife and I plan to go back to sit and eat as the ambiance was very welcoming. They do have TV's inside which I like. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the goodness! Don't wonder if you should eat here, just go and decide for yourself. You won't be sorry, I promise! This place will definitely be one of our go-to's in the area. I'm not sure if it's family owned and operated, but it definitely feels that way. The employees at the register were more than helpful as my wife and I had some questions about the menu and bakery items. If you and your family are looking for something other than the usual, this...
Read moreI went there today for the first time. The customer service was exceptional, and the food was quick to come. We ordered the empanadas which we’re 10/10 taste but for the price I expected them to be a little bigger to compare to other Colombian restaurants. I had the breakfast arropio I believe it’s called comes with beans, rice, chicharrón, steak , queso, arepa and eggs. The rice and beans were good, the arepa was really hard to chew and the chicharrón was sorta unedible. It was super tough, and the grease didn’t melt in your mouth so you couldn’t really eat it . It also tasted like straight pig , I think if they boiled it with garlic and onions and then fried it would drastically help the flavor and consistency . The steak was super thin and extremely over cooked so again really chewy and hard to swallow. The empanadas were so good! I could eat like 20 of them. My husband had the plantain sandwich, it was good, but you can’t expect to eat it as a sandwich and the plantain was very hard to break off , so he had to tear off pieces in order to not break a tooth. We also ordered some desserts , we weren’t impressed at all and the cambray was In my opinion very gross, my fingers were crossed that they were filled with guava and cream cheese but it was filled with some super salty cheese that didn’t melt so it was a lot more dough than stuffing. In summary we will definitely be back for the...
Read moreWe visited today at 1230pm, I took my elderly COLOMBIAN mother, the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, The staff is friendly 😀 We ordered 4 empanadas, the young lady with an I love you tattoo on her forearm brought them out stacked on one plate. We had to ask for 2 small plates we thought it was strange. The empanadas were heated by lamp they were not freshly made, the ahi (sauce) the chopped onions looked and tasted old. We ordered the Bandeja Paisa it was good except the piece of meat was very small and thin. We also ordered the PICADA for 2 people. It was very small for the price $18 and was missing plantain, yuca frita and it was cold, the squared pieces of meat were very thin and it was warm not freshly made at all, it should be hot! Very disappointed 😞 but the worst is yet to come. A young man picked up our plates, we had already placed our leftover food in a to go plate, he asked how the food was we answered ok, he said i see you both almost ate the plates. We felt insulted and extremely offended by his comment. Even though we come from the same country and it could be common in normal households, this is not appropriate at a business establishment plus we don't know you. We are customers please take this observation and do better....
