Mac's Pub — Restaurant in Toms River

Are server was nice but almost never came to the table and when she did always forgot to bring what we ordered. I had asked for a drink very politely on multiple occasions and after the third time of asking she came back with the wrong drink as in it was the cocktail my friend had and she said it was a completely different cocktail and insisted it was what I ordered and since I knew it was wrong I politely apologized and waiting for her to leave then went to the bar and told them it was not what I ordered and told them what I ordered and when it came out it was not the same. then she forgot to put are food in multiple times once she did bring it out she blamed the kitchen staff for it taking so long and we had noticed it was cold but we ate it anyway with out a complaint. after ordering more drinks that never came she brought us the bill with everything we order with out getting half of it so we asked for the item's we where missing and she blamed the bar for it was very busy (even though they had very few customers and we're not short-staffed) and when I had gone to the bar they said they never got my drink orders and that they where actually very slow that night so in conclusion the food was good even tho it was cold the drinks where good and the bar staff was very nice and I would go back as long as I never get that...

I've been coming to Mac's for so long (back when they were in the old Kmart plaza on 37!) and I always have a great experience. Some nights it's busier than others; and on some nights my friends and I are the only ones there! Never had bad service, and all of the bartenders have always been friendly. When the new owners took over, many changes happened, for what I think was the better. Not that Mac's was bad before, but I think it got turned up a few notches, especially with the menu. Complete overhaul of the menu was great - especially the addition of the French Onion Soup!! Lately, we've been coming in for their Monday Night BOGO dinner specials, and I gotta say I have mixed feelings about it. I don't like that they're so busy now that it takes me longer to get a table, but I also love the fact that they're so busy because it means the business is doing well!! The last thing I want is for my favorite pub to go under because of declining patronage - and that doesn't look like it'll happen. Routinely get AWESOME service from our server Susanne - and Jimmy behind the bar always knows how to make my drink just right. The MNF crew will be back in full force...

Great food, but horrible and unfriendly service from Mary. I’ve been a regular for a couple months but I won’t return. Unfortunate, but there are plenty of other options in Toms River. Other bartenders, especially Sydney and Tina go above and beyond. Sad that one can kill the entire experience. While understanding that bartenders and management have the right and actual responsibility, to cut off alcohol to those they feel have had enough. I’d expect a more professional delivery of that message. As a 63 yr old handicapped stroke victim, I am unable to drive and always secure a ride or pay for an uber. A simple, “let’s make this your last one” would be more accepted than an unpleasant bartender shoving the bill your way. Regardless, bartenders ego wins again. Still lots of positives at Macs, just depends on the mood of the bartenders.
