Salt Flat Coffee Company — Restaurant in Tooele

I had high hopes since these guys are local, small batch roasters. I will say, the bag of Blue Nile I bought has been quite good. However, I wasn't a fan of my vanilla bean latte. For one thing, there are few options--no cappuccino, cortado, etc. You can pretty much get a latte or Americano if you want espresso. They also follow the same trend as all the other Tooele coffee shops which cater to people with a taste for extremely sweet coffee drinks. My latte ended up being too sweet for me to take more than a couple sips. Someday soon I'll go try a plain latte and see if it's any good. I'll revise my review if that changes my mind.

With them being small batch roasters, I was hoping for something a little closer to Third Wave than the other coffee shops here. Alas, it was not.

I got there just after 7am on a Tuesday. They were not open yet, which was a bit disappointing. They ended up opening around 7:15am that morning. As someone who is usually late to work, I totally get it... However, as a coffee shop customer who wanted my morning caffeine before work, them not opening on time did not help me to be on time! Salt Flat Coffee Company hands down has the best coffee I have ever had! Knowing its brewed locally makes it that much better. They have a variety of light and dark roast and some amazing specialty roast like the the Salt Flat Shiner. Highly recommend them to any coffee lover!!
