Chips and salsa are excellent, ice water is horrible (skip the water) not sure what is up with the water, the coffee is not great. Now the food. We were here at 9:30AM breakfast time, keep that part in mind it will be important. I ordered huevos rancheros, it was good, my wife ordered a Vista Linda breakfast burrito. Food arrived quickly and we began to enjoy it, my wife had a few bites then I saw her unfold her burrito on the plate to find that she was given a bean and cheese burrito. Strange as she ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs and like 3 different meats and the likes. We ask the waiter about the mistake where we are informed we ordered the vista Linda burrito which is a bean and cheese burrito, not the Vista Linda breakfast burrito which is ; well a breakfast burrito, at breakfast time. Miscommunication I guess, but maybe using a bit of common sense since it is breakfast time or double checking with the customer and explaining there are two items named the same would help matters. Or just change the name of the burrito. All would have avoided this. All in all it was a nice quiet spot with decent food, and horrible tap water, I suggest an RO system for the water. And a name change on one of the...
Read moreReally good food. We arrived around 530p on a Tuesday. Taco Tuesday. Place was busy. One of the first take-aways was the salsa bar. Should be something there for everyone - I found at least three: creamy jalapeno, habanero and the roasted jalapeno. I didn't try the roasted garlic and cilantro, but should have. Our party of five was seated as quickly as possible (very reasonable). As I said, it was Taco Tuesday. Five street tacos for $5.99. A lot of meat to choose from: asada, pork (from the verde?), chorizo, chicken, etc... Everyone at the table ordered the special. I had the pork (2), asada (2), and chorizo (1). The chorizo was a pleasant surprise with a good flavor and signature red grease. Very tasty and I wish I ordered more. The asada was nothing to write home about. My favorite was the pork. Sweet, tender, melded well with the corn tortilla. Plenty of salsas to try with them - go with the creamy jalapeno (not spicy). Adds a nice touch. The diced onion and cilantro highlighted the porky goodness. Yeah, to redo it pork (3) and chorizo (2). Next time! Everyone in the group was very satisfied - two baskets of chips and a variety of salsa and tacos. No beer or...
Read moreOk so I guess since I eat here at least once a week I had better give them the review they deserve.
Hot, Fresh, Fast, Courteous, Scrumptious, Delicious and Affordable are just a few words I'd use to describe this hidden little gem of a restaurant.
Located just a hop, skip, and jump east of main Street on Vine on the north side of the street. Don't blink when turning east onto Vine or you'll miss it.
If you've driven past and thought I'm not going in that hole in the wall. Keep on going to whatever flavorless restaurant you've been to a thousand times and I'll keep this one for myself.
So while I haven't had everything on the menu, everything I have had was fantastic. (Carne Asada Anything being my favorite) Including some amazing desserts.
